Acrylic polymers are made up of chemical compositions .The chemicals used in manufacturing acrylic polymers are derived from coal, air, water, limestone and petroleum. When acrylonitrile monomer undergoes chemical reactions under controlled condition of elevated heat and pressure- acrylic polymer is derived. Modacrylic polymers are copolymers. They are made by the reaction between acrylonitrile and vinyl chloride monomers. The increasingly use of modacrylic for fake fur manufacturing is due to its property of being easily colored by real looking animal fur dyes and are fire resistant.
