Wag the Tagline - The Rhetoric of Brand Messaging
The news proclaiming the demise of the tagline has been greatly exaggerated. As a matter of fact, the tagline is alive and well – just grossly underappreciated.Admittedly, not all taglines shine. Many are vague, awkward, pretentious, complicated, and ambiguous. They communicate unintended messages, and are guilty of using trendy or meaningless business jargon. They often devalue the brand they’re supposed to strengthen and support. As tools of aggressive advertisers, taglines often exhibit the subtlety of a sledgehammer. Novice marketers tend to use them indiscriminately as mere window dressing, and Internet sophisticates sneer at them as if they were quaint holdovers from the golden age of television. Given the lack of product loyalty these days, one wonders whether consumers could care less if Bayer works wonders or Avis tries harder. In Praise of TaglinesWhether you like them or not, taglines still guide and influence consumer behav
When it comes to a driver's success throughout his or her career there will always be one factor that will stand out time and time again above all else...more important than the equipment you drive, more important than the freight you haul, and even more important than the company you were working for. The biggest factor in the level of success and happiness a driver will find will without a doubt be your dispatcher. Everything in trucking begins and ends right here....with dispatch.

Depending on whom you ask, dispatchers can go by many names. If you ask someone in middle management in a large company they may call them fleet managers, distribution specialists, driver managers, and other wonderful titles. They'll smile and say how these people are the backbone of the company and their knowledge, dedication, expertise, and heartfelt appreciation for the hard work their drivers put in has made their company grow into the industry leader it is today.

Pharmaceutical Sales Careers for Business Degree Graduates
So you graduated with a business degree or even a MBA and you don’t want to become an accountant or get too heavily involved in the finance or banking areas. You like marketing and sales but are not sure of which industry to work in. If you want to be in a leading edge field that plays an important role in healthcare, you might want to consider a pharmaceutical sales career.Unlike what some people think, one does not have to be a science graduate or have a scientific background to become a pharmaceutical sales representative. As long as one has the aptitude to keep learning, pharmaceutical company training departments will make sure that new pharmaceutical sales reps are thoroughly trained in the science in order to do the job effectively.Although it is easier for people with science backgrounds, there have been many others who went into pharmaceutical sales careers without prior related experience with anatomy, physiology and pharmacology. Professionals in Pink: Corporate Gifts for Women in the Workplace
In 1952, Harry Klemfuss saw the need to recognize secretaries for their hard work and dedication. National Secretary’s Day was created on his notion that secretaries are essential to the corporate world. This unofficial holiday is presently celebrated on the last Wednesday in April. During the 1950s the majority of secretaries in the workplace were women. Since then, National Secretary’s Day has been renamed Administrative Professional’s Day. The name was changed to reflect the progression of women in the workplace and the fact that men have taken on administrative roles as well.Modern corporations are realizing the importance of employee recognition and have adopted corporate gifting. Research suggests that corporate gifting increases employee morale and creates a more positive environment in the workplace. While women are still a minority in the corporate realm, many companies are encouraged to adopt Harry Klemfuss’ idea to recognize the importance of

    Corporate Sympathy Gift Ideas
There has been a complete turnaround in the concept of manpower management in most leading companies. The focus has shifted from authoritarian style of management to a more personal and caring style, which treats people who make up a company as associates and comrades. This change in attitude has led to the formation of the Associate Acknowledgment program that helps improve employee communication with the management and boost their morale. This kind of a work environment makes the employees feel supported, celebrated and acknowledged. One part of this program is the Employee bereavement policy that conveys sympathy for staff members that have suffered a family death.Flowers and a condolence card are the most commonly used ideas. However, there are a lot of other options available for expressing support and sympathy to the bereaved family members. A sympathy gift should be chosen keeping in mind the age, family background and the interests of the people

Making Sure the Celebrity Will Be the Right Fit for Your Audience
Chapter 2 of 14 Making sure the Celebrity will be the right fit for your audience. One of the biggest mistakes made when contemplating the use of a celebrity endorser is choosing a celebrity that does not complement your business or product well. For example, sticking a retired baseball player into a kids video about baseball could be a sure failure. Kids don’t recognize players from the past. If, however, the target market audience of the video was the kids father (who would be considered a baby boomer) then using a retired player might make a lot of sense. Using a retired player offers a very distinct advantage when it comes to the financial side of the equation. However, while choosing a player from yesterday can cost a lot less money there is also the significantly higher risk of the kid not knowing who the player is and not caring about the video. Along with the reward comes the risk of this type of endorser not being able to make inroads

I can't tell you how many times I've met up with drivers on the road that had the same dispatcher that I had and we had completely opposite opinions of that person. Maybe I was getting 3200 miles per week and home every weekend while the other person was getting 1800 miles per week and only allowed to go home every other weekend.

Nobody will have more of an influence on your success as a driver than your dispatcher. He or she can be your best friend, worst enemy, or anything in between, sometimes all in the same DAY!!! Of course I can be that way too and without a doubt there have been a number of times I've brought that upon myself. But hey, I'm not on trial here so get off my back!! No, seriously though you will find out that you control your own destiny to a very large extent. Prett
