    Email Goes Offline
Whether you choose to do your marketing online or offline, one thing does not change. Using Recruiters: How To Get A Step Ahead Of The Crowd
When there is an opening to fill, a company has four basic approaches at their disposal:• Advertise the position on Internet job sites• Network• Probe the Internet for viable candidates• Use recruitersWhen a company advertises an opening on an Internet job site, they receive hundreds of resumes. It simply is too long of a process and financially prohibitive to review every resume and move through each step of the interviewing and selection process to fill the opening.Since decision-makers know other decision-makers, a hiring manager’s network can be quite extensive. In time, good candidates can be located. The problem with this approach is that the hiring manager may simply be too busy to engage in the time and human interaction required to make this happen.Employers and recruiters utilizing keyword searches scour the job sites in search of candidates to fill job openings. A major segment of these openings are unadvertised. When you post your resumes to a job site, you gain visibilit

Are You A Coward? I Was
Over the last month, I have come to hate emails and answerphones; not because I get 100 emails every day but because emails and answerphones are fast becoming the tool of the coward. At Beyond Philosophy we worked with a client a while ago whose account managers and sales teams never used to speak to anyone! They just used to send emails. If the customer called in they were greeted by answerphones which were kept on all day. You see the sales teams were all busy doing “real” work. The customers were just interrupting them. Surely this must be the height of “inside out” behaviour. But why do people do this?Primarily, it is because we all feel we can say things in emails that we would never say face to face. In my experience this never works how people would expect. No matter how hard you try, you think you have written one thing and the person reads something else. Before you know it you have lost a customer or lost a friend. We seem to forget that that all important ‘relationship’ with the customer is built on human contact

      4. When dealing with creditors and collection agencies don’t let them bully you or upset you over outstanding balances. Just collect the information you need.

All you have to say is, "Thanks. I will call your company back soon regarding this matter." Don't give them time for a rebuttal - just hang up.

If they push the matter, then only as a last resort tell them you will be filing bankruptcy. Give them the name and number of your attorney and end the call.

Some companies will take this as a reason to step in and offer a settlement to reduce the amount owed in order to get you to pay. And sometimes people do call creditors and suggest bankruptcy just for this edge in negotiating a settlement, even when they don't intend to file.

You absolutely don't want to use this tactic if you are going to follow through with the bankruptcy. They will try to default your bankruptcy petition if they can.

    • Identify All Accounts. It is important to identify all of your accounts.

      1. If you don't see a creditor or collection agency on the credit report you know for a fact you owe money to, then you need to find any billing statements or collection letters you may have received. These statements and letters will have necessary address information and phone numbers along with amounts still owed.

      2. If you have no such information, then try to skip trace online to locate these companies. I personally like using this site for look up:

      http://www.bigbook.com/

You don't have to know what city the company is located in, but definitely try to find the state.

      3. If that is still not helping, then you can
