Web Hosting and Transfer or Bandwidth
So, you have your domain name and you have designed a website or had a website built for you, now what. Well, of course you need hosting. A lot of people want to start a business online but are not aware of some of the basics like how people are able to view or visit your website. What is web hosting? Right now, if you have already built your website, all of those files are on your computer. People who are surfing the web don’t have access to your computer, therefore cannot find your website. Advanced users know they can turn their computer into a server where people are actually coming to their computer to view their website, however, this is not recommended and certainly not recommended for someone who is not very advanced as a computer technician. There are computers who are set up to be servers. These are called host computers as well to simplify things. You need to upload your website files to the hosting computer so they can make it available for others to view on the web. This is the service we call web hosting. Will just any web host do? No. This is a common misunderstanding about web hosting. All web hosts are not created equal. There are many different levels of web hosting and many di

As you begin a new year in your sales career, why not do a little self-evaluation on your strengths and weaknesses. The following list represents what I have discovered to be the common traits of successful salespeople.1. They manage their attitudes from inside-out vs. outside-in. 2. They are on fire with passion and desire. 3. They are a resource for their clients. They go the extra mile. 4. They are excellent communicators. 5. They are focused and concentrate on the task at hand. 6. They are able to win the support of all inside support staff. 7. They spend more time getting information than giving it. 8. They are masters at asking the right questions, in the right way at the right time. 9. They sell value, not price. They know that, over time, this is the most important issue to their customer. 10. They manage their resources of time, corporate resources, money and people. 11. They keep in touch with their clients on a regular basis. 12. Their primary goal is service and customer loyalty. 13. They honor their commitments. 14. They give something back to their community, profession. 15. They are everywhere. They network and understan

A great deal has been written about the group thinking concept. Members all participate in solving problems, coming up with new ideas or dreaming up new products. (Many heads are better than one?)

They discuss the product, idea, or problem with each person throwing out their thoughts on the subject regardless of how ridiculous it may seem. This is supposed to generate a vast pool of knowledge, including the answer to what the group is trying to find.

Each idea is written down by one of the group and eventually the puzzle is supposed to fall in place and the solution found.

Another method is for you to do your own private brainstorming, using a tape recorder. When it is played back, it just may have the solution for you.

Generally, however, neither method produces any better results than if you study the matter thoroughly and look at it from every possible angle. After you have "busted" your brain capacity in this manner, sleep in it and let your "subconscious" find the solution.

I’d describe a legal interview question as one that might appear a bit unusual but is actually acceptable. Depending on the specific job you are interviewing for, the industry you work in, and depending on the employment laws that apply in your country or region, the wording of such questions and the ability of the interviewer to ask these sorts of questions might differ.Questions that you can typically be asked during interviews are certainly legal of course ie. questions related to your previous experience, skills, accomplishments. But what if you are asked a question that you might not be sure how to answer but is actually quite legal and is one that you need to properly answer if you wish to get the job? Here are some examples of subjects that I would classify as legal interview question material:Your ability to legally work in the countryDepending on where you live, there might be some legalities regarding how an interviewer can actually word this question but in the cases I’ve seen, it is certainly a fair and legal interview question. The company wants to know if you are legally able to work in the country and if not, are they going to have to help get your work paper

More and more I hear and read about a looming crisis of leadership at the middle management level and the inevitable resulting increase in, poor performance, accidents and production mistakes and hence declining profits.I’m afraid to say these observations are not just rumours. In my own work as a management consultant I’ve noticed a distinct increase in negative behaviours in many middle managers in all sorts of companies. In this short article I’ll explain what I mean by “negative behaviours” offer suggestions on what senior managers can do about it.Over the past four years I’ve noticed the following kinds of behaviours from many middle managers:· Increasingly using harsh, abrupt language: “Don’t be so stupid”. “I don’t care what the problem is just get it fixed”· Becoming more dictatorial (unwilling to listen) “Yes, I know all that now do it this way”· Putting time pressure on people by continually asking when jobs will be completed and why things are taking so long· Losing tempers and insulting others when things go wrong· Unwilling to take the time to read, seek advice and think things out carefully· Creating a them and us culture: “We decide and

Thought I'd take a moment or two to review another important pre-interview consideration that could make or break the results of your job interview. I'm speaking of Job Interview Preparation. What's that? Most of us think that when it comes to a job interview, we gather up our resume and references, don our attractive clothing, put on our game face and assume we can present our own skills and know-how to the interviewer or interviewers. After all, they are our skills and know-how, if we can't present them better than anyone else -- who can? Right? Suprisingly enough, you'd be WRONG if you believed that.Having been involved in literally 1000's of interviews over the course of my career, I can promise you that most Applicants cannot logically present their skills and accomplishments, let alone do it in a manner that moves the interview along to a positive conclusion. Oh sure, they can offer up a nice list of things to talk about, things they can do in their respective work environments, and make it sound good too. But for the most part, too often, they neglect the important news... like what you are going to do specifically for the employer with which you are interviewing now. Emplo

It’s all in who you know... Or can get to Know!Yesterday I had a customer service issue that warranted my immediate attention. I had ordered a product that I desperately needed that was now about 6 weeks overdue the original back ordered date. I had made numerous calls to both the local and the national vendor over the past few weeks and had received different answers every single time. I had gotten the run around from corporate, from the local vendor, tried to make complaints on line and their server was down, and had left phone messages that had gone unreturned. I had been strung along, lied to and ignored. I was livid by the time I got them on the phone to let me know that it would now be another 10-14 days.I told the woman that I trained in customer service and sales and that I also wrote and spoke nationally about companies. I told her that I was able to get this organization that I’m ordering through to cancel them as a vendor, but that I heard they had been very responsive towards some of the hurricane victims which I applauded. But that their service was unacceptable and that I was appalled they’d let someone fall through the cracks like they did. I asked what they were going to do for m
