    Most resumes are NOT web friendly. Most companies scan resumes. The data scanned does not go into a Microsoft Word document it goes into a database. If you have emailed your Word document the scanner will not read your document correctly and it will be scanned in as random symbols not as readable content. To handle this you need your resume to be in TXT version.

    Point Number 2. Leave Out The Following Data.

    Leave out any data that is usually considered personal like: personal hobbies, your SS number and your marital status. Remember this is business, keep it simple and to the point. People often have funny ideas about things and you don't want to inadvertently churn these up. It is also dangerous to put your personal information on your resume as it will most likely end up on the internet where "anyone" can access it, even the bad guys!

    This is an important and ALWAYS forgotten step that must be done in todays age of digital online communication. Your resume must contain the industry buzzwords and keywords so that your resume will be "seen" by the search engines. Use the words that the employers and recruiters use ( type in) when they search online for people in your field.

    More often than not, this important step is left out of the resume writing process. In today's world that spells certain failure for your resume!
