Here are a couple things to keep in mind. First off, you might want to look for a better paying product to offer (more on this in a minute). Also, you should be sending your PPC hits to a lead capture page and getting email addresses and growing your list of prospects. If you are doing this, then you may have to recalculate how much that lead is worth.
What we mean is that you might have a person on your list for YEARS, and they could eventually purchase many products and services from you. So, it is hard to say right away how much that lead actually cost.
The more immediate calculation (how much you are earning NOW from your PPC campaign) can be dramatically improved by offering a higher ticket item. Did you know that you can probably sell an item you earn say $1,000 or more on with about the same amount of time energy and effort as it will take to sell the $19.95 option?
It is true. So just by replacing your product with one that pays better, your PPC campaign may become a HUGE success. There are plenty of affiliate type products you can offer that pay nice commissions these days, so spend some time thinking about this.
BUT, what if it is MY product I'm offering? Perhaps you can think about raising the price. Maybe add something to it, or it may be worth more than you give it credit for. Several years ago I ran across an eBook on Real Estate that I thought was the best simple strategy I had ever read on the subject. The online author was selling it for just $45.95. My immediate advice to him was that he should raise the price to $97, and he did. Sales went up, and he was making over 100% more profit per sale.
His thought was that since the book could be read in about 30 or 40 minutes, how could he charge more? I assured him that his concise and to-the-point info was JUST what folks were looking for. We are all busy, and we need something that we can read quickly and put to use right away. This author has now went on to provide many more related RE info products and is doing well with his online income (in addition to the Real Estate that he still invests in).

Keep in mind that if you are a customer, and using the product yourself (or you have used it) they will be more likely to listen to you.
Maybe you can find a higher ticket product you like, and then follow up with your lower ticket item to your list. With a higher ticket item you should be able to afford even higher bids on your PPC terms.
A tweak here and there could turn a losing PPC campaign into a HUGE winner!
