That Super Bowl Snickers Commercial Wasn't Eye Candy To This Mechanic
To the editor: I read in the newspapers and also saw on the news that the Snickers TV commercial that was shown on the Super Bowl was pulled off the air because it offended gays and lesbians. I’m glad because, although I am not gay, that Snickers commercial really upset me and my co-workers (who are not gay either). To see two guys kissing is one thing I don’t need to see again in my life but that’s not what bothered me as much as when they realiz

You can keep in touch with them because they’ve given you their email address (this is the permission-based marketing we talked about in the previous issue), so you can educate them about taking care of themselves
Businesses - Leisurely Dining Or Fast Food
It occurred to me the other day, that so many people today liken their businesses to the way they eat - fast. Think about it. All over the web we are inundated with... make $1000's of dollars a day, make $10,000 a month, make a million by the end of the year. Everyone is looking for the magic formula or the magic bullet to get rich quick...fast. They want their business to succeed in the time it takes to get their hamburger or chicken sandwich. No
In parts 1 and 2, We convinced you you’ve got to have a website, and we’ve shared some things to consider before having one designed, so now it’s time to think about how you can generate revenue 24 / 7.

You’ve worked hard to build a business but let’s face it, you’re limited in how much you can make because your business can only be open a certain number of hours a day. If you provide a service to consumers or B2B clients, you’re even more limited in your earning potential because there’s only so much of you to go around. It’s time to embrace the old clich? “work smarter, not harder” or, as our Creative Director, Guy Richards, says “leverage your time” so you maximize your earning potential.

Using the web to maximize revenue might be obvious to those folks who sell actual items (if you have a store, you can open a store front on the web through your website), but for those folks who provide a service, it can be a little challenging to figure out how to make this work.

Let’s say you run a spa and you’re in a resort like one of our colleagues. You can set up a website that allows clients to order products and book services online. They can buy gift certificates for themselves or friends. They can forward your web address to friends. You can create the concept of an online “party” so a client can have all his / her friends buy things and get a small discount. T.G.I.M. - Thank God It's Monday
Start strong on Monday if you want better sales results at the end of the week on Friday. Here are 11 practical sales tips:1. Set your alarm clock for 30 minutes earlier every Monday morning. It's a great way to start a week of selling.2. Back your car into your garage every Sunday night. You'll begin every Monday morning headed in the right direction.3. Begin the new week with a written priority to do list (Your six-pack).

Extranets: Better than eMail for Group Collaboration
Companies increasingly prefer using an extranet over email to communicate with their team members, clients, and suppliers for document sharing because it ideally suits the groups engaged in collaboration; whereas, email is best-suited for one-to-one communication only. Generally email programs are ineffective to prioritize messages and attachments. In an email, everything arrives in the same place and in the same order in which it was sent. Whereas

The Advantage of Using Teams for Residential Cleaning
Many residential cleaning companies start out as a one-person operation. But as your cleaning company grows and you add employees you will soon face the problem of whether you should send in a single person to clean a home or if you should send in a team. Some cleaners may prefer to work alone, but is that in the best interest of your cleaning company?A single cleaner does all the tasks and does not have to negotiate with anyone about who wi

Residential Construction Estimating Software For Contractors
Operating construction jobs is a great deal of work, not just in terms of using a level or nail gun. Managing those construction duties is just as time consuming and sometimes aggravating. Small and medium sized contractors have a need for the most help, which will definitely benefit the use of construction estimating software. While there are many software packages used for estimating residential and commercial construction options, they can somet

Perhaps your company is a large, multi-site location that sells and installs carpet. People in your office are often on the phone giving basic information about things like how to get to the store nearest them, changing scheduled deliveries, and so on. You’re spending money on overtime because employees can’t get their work done if they’re always answering the phone. You could put this information on the website and that would gain these workers more time to get their work done. You could have articles or “white papers” on topics like carpet color, other flooring options besides carpet, how to care for flooring. You can notify people about sales through email.

Your website should really be an extension of your business. It’s a 24 / 7 world and people want information when they want it. They also want to shop when they’re ready to shop. If they can’t get the information or products from you, they may decide that your competitor, who has the information and products available, is a better choice for them. You can’t afford not to have a website and you can’t afford not to maximize that site.

No matter what your product or service, whether you sell to consumers or other businesses, a website is a must.
