Blog Your Way To A Passive Income
What Is A Blog?Millions of people are doing it, from CEOs and business owners to stay-home mums and students. I like the definition used by Blogger:"In simple terms, a blog is a web site, where you write stuff on an ongoing basis. New stuff shows up at the top, so your visitors can read what's new. Then they comment on it or link to it or email you. Or not."I think of my blog as my online journal, a place to record my thoughts and experiences and to share them with a few, or with many. It's a lot easier than building a website, and best of all, it's free (if you use free hosting platforms like Blogger or WordPress). Why Blog?Blogging has at least 3 great benefits. An easy way to establish your web presence with minimum cost Unlike a website, a blog is easy to set up, even if you are new to the Internet, and it doesn't have to cost you a cent. (Okay, maybe it might cost you $8.95 a year if you want it hosted on your own server with your own domain name, which definitely looks more impressive than having a URL that says http://yourblog.blogspot.com).Keep in touch with visitors and potential customers easily A blog offers a friendly, unintrusive way of updating lots of people without the hassle of writing separate emails. How To Harness The Power Of Visualization
We have all heard of the tremendous power of visualization - the process of creating a mental picture of what you want as a means of acquiring or achieving something you desire. While it may seem like a lot of metaphysical mumbo-jumbo, I would challenge you to reflect on the goals in your life that you have realized and conclude that visualization was not an important part of the process. We've all done it in the past - think back to something good in your life that you worked for and achieved and you will undoubtedly recall having had a strong mental image of the outcome that served as inspiration and motivation.Create mental images of the things you want to achieve or acquire and bring them to mind several times a day. As part of my personal development program, I have documented what my goals are. I have them stored on my computer, and have a program that causes it to pop up three times a day. At first, I was just reading them, but an odd thing started to happen after about a week. As I read them, I unconsciously brought up the visual image I had created. In my mind's eye, I actually see the ultimate outcome of goals I have set for myself.Another method to use when visualizing is to put yourself in the picture. If the image is of your dream house, picture yourself relaxing in your
The topic for discussion today is about what not to do when it comes to search engine optimization (SEO). I was going to name this article The Do’s & Don’ts of SEO, but I figure at this point you know what to do. I’ve dedicated many articles that are focused on what to ‘DO’. Just check my articles “SEO Basic’s for the Dummy” or “Dominate the Search Engines” or “The Art of Keywords” to understand what to do. Or just read this article and ‘DO’ the opposite of what ‘not’ to do.

The things that I will talk about in this article are about what is called in SEO “black hat” SEO. What’s been talked in previous articles are what we call “white hat” To learn more on “white hat” strategies, refer to any of the articles above. I Can't Hear A Word They're Sayin
If you use any genre of advertising to attract new prospects, your world is upside down. The popularity of TV, Radio and Print is on a slippery slope. Response to commercials and ads has slipped further. Some blame it on technology like digital video recorders, iPods and satellite radio. You should blame it on the Internet—fast becoming the best place to do business despite a dot.com stumble just a few years back. That cyber behemoth, World Wide Web, is the marketplace of smart business people. They know mass media doesn’t cut it any more. You have to be direct in your marketing approach. The Internet is the direct marketing king. In fact, the medium that was known mostly for the mechanized words, “you’ve got mail”, topped 100 billion dollars in sales for 2006. That’s $100,000,000,000! You know, more than the Gross National Product for most smaller countries in the world.Fighting for survival, Radio, TV and Print companies are yelling at you louder and more often trying to be heard above the din of sameness. We don’t listen. We can’t. We have become like Harry Nilsson in his ballad Everybody’s Talkin. Here’s what he said in the refrain, “everybody’s talkin at me, I don’t hear a word they’re sayin, only the echoes of my mind”. We’re there. We’ve exceeded critical message mass. Too much com

How To Know When It's Time To Redesign Your Logo
Early Logo BeginningsThe history of logo design and logos dates back to ancient Greece. The word "logo" means a name, symbol or trademark designed for easy recognition. The use of logos as trademarks has existed as long as there have been traders and merchants. They can be traced back to the thirteenth century. They include masons marks, goldsmiths marks, paper makers' watermarks and watermarks for the nobility, and printers' marks. Why Do Logos Change? Many factors drive advertising or logo trends. The most powerful force that shapes and drives design is “human culture.” You might say advertising, even logo design, reflect the signs of out times. From the early 1800’s to 1940’s, most logos were elegant hand illustrations and lettering. A logo for an electric company during this period was not much more than the company name with a lightning bolt. Some companies have retained part of their original design in their present day logo. In 1920 the Victor Talking Machine Company had a logo of a dog named “Nipper” sitting in front of a phonograph and listening very intently. Today RCA still uses Nipper in its advertising campaigns. Enter Avant Garde DesignIn the early 60’s the creative works of Andy Warhol presented a

    Ready, Set, Network!
Networking is an important part of growing any business. It's an especially important part of marketing for small businesses that may not have the funds to put towards costly advertising methods. It's true that networking takes time and energy, but the good news is it's relatively inexpensive, and it's a great way to drum up business.Although networking sometimes gets a bad rap, it's important to know that effective networking isn't about "schmoozing" as some people may believe. Networking is, in its most basic form, about relationships. Sure, you can hand your card over to a new acquaintance as you introduce yourself, exchange a few sentences, move on the next prospect and repeat the process. But has the other person learned anything about you and your business? And if they don't know why you are different from your competitors, why should they call you rather than them the next time they need your product or service?Getting to know other business personnel is also a good way to qualify prospects to determine whether the potential is there for doing business together. But don't write off a new contact just because they don't seem to need your product or service right now. In fact, leaving out the sales pitch when you're just getting to know someone is actually a good idea. When two

    Black Hat

What’s this mysterious “black hat” SEO strategies? Is it the latest fashion trend? No it’s not a fashion trend at all. Should I do it? Does it work with the SE’s or is it just a waste of time? The answer to these questions depend upon who you are talking to. Many employ these strategies and continue to do so today.

My answer to these questions is yes they do work. However, in my opinion, Black Hat strategies are quick fixes with short term gains. I see it as continuing to work hard and not necessarily smart. I am lazy, so I want to do something once and let it go from there. Black Hat strategies do not allow this. Your site may get the rankings quick, but soon your site will be at the back of the line. (or out of the line completely). Black Hat
