I was checking out the independent films at Netflix a few minutes ago, when something startling happened.

I came across a DVD cover with an oddly familiar blue eyeball staring at me.

“I know that eye” I thought.

“Wow, imagine being able to recognize an eye” I continued to silently mutter to myself.

“Gee, we have amazing perceptual abilities,” I went on to remark, still dazzled by my find.

Then I tripped off on a thought chain about retinal scans and the like, when it hit me.

“I know who that eyeball belongs to!”

As it turns out, I believe it belongs to a fashion model, but then I wondered, “Did they pay her for the shot, or did they rip her off?”

You can imagine their reasoning. Who can tell who owns that eye? And what’s the value of that eye even if the model figures it’s hers and she wants to be paid?

At the most, can it be a $50 eye? Or is it worth $100?

Should we make the effort to get the rights to use her eye? That would involve drafting a contract, getting her people to talk to our people, and so on. It could take weeks or months of back and forth, and after all is said and done, she might want a fortune for that silly shot, and pardon me, but we still may not see things, you’ve got it, eye to eye.

For a bottle of wine we can get Betty, down the hall to pose, but her eyes are too bloodshot most of the time, and then we’d have to invest a ton of dough in Visine. And what if something went wrong during the shoot? Would Workman’s Compensation pay for that?

Optimizing Your Cash Flow With Proper Accounts Receivable Management
Businesses miss on growth opportunities and even close their doors every day, not because they aren’t profitable enough, but because they are strangled by poor cash flow. The problem is that while their profit and loss statement shows success, their bank account cries poor. Excessive mon

    Breaking Bureaucracy
Have you ever thought that your unconventional way of viewing the workplace tends to create cold sweat down the back of your boss? That is if he is a bureaucrat - a custodian of the status quo! It’s not really old fashioned shoes or light green krimpilene trousers that make your boss’s man

Repeat Business And How To Get It
It has long been acknowledged that it is easier and cheaper to get more business from your existing customers than it is to get any business from somebody who has never done business with you.Your customers already know you and their business is more profitable for you because there

Will Retail Chains Lose Their Dominance?
In most industrialised nations the the supply chain of goods from source to end user has changed little for many years. Firstly there are the producers. Then the wholesaler, then the retailer and then the customer and consumer. In the U.S. the supply chain has always been pulled by

If you think this is bizarre consider this. My graphic artist could sense I didn’t want to use clip art in my brochures so she suggested we go out into the streets and shoot real people, sitting in restaurants, talking on their cells--now that’s a rare shot!

I thought it might work, but then I said we’d have to get releases from them to use their likenesses. Their images are their property, and like those primitives who think you steal souls with snapshots, today’s lawyers believe you steal money this way.

    I nixed the idea.

But now I know where to get my commercial art: From DVD covers.

Gee, I wonder if anyone will be able to recognize that nose…
