    Managing Content for SEO
Content TopicsHere I will be covering these points:-Duplicate content Relevancy of content Age of content Content lengthDuplicate content is one of the primary reasons for search engine penalties. Content duplication can be either internal or external. Internal duplication of content is easier to manage and if some of your own pages have duplicate content, you can always rewrite them, block the page with robots.txt or even may re-think about keeping that page on your site. External content duplication ar

As a webmaster you are in the hierarchy of web pages competing for the top position that the search engines give as results to their visitors.

Would you agree that the purpose of the search engine is different from yours?

Here is the million dollar question, why are so many webmasters under the impression that they are fighting with the search engines for top positions?

The Oscars Award Ceremony Can Bring You Profit
The Oscars Award Ceremony can bring you profit, quite simply because any movie can bring you profit, and the oscars serve to nicely bring certain films into the spotlight. The Oscars is the movie industry's biggest annual back-slapping event, and with all the hype (did someone say OVER hype??) surrounding the ceremony, it is a great marketing vehicle for the whole industry, more so for the films nominated, and of course even more so for the films that win! This is how we can profit, because a nomination of win generates huge interest in a film, and ev
We all love to be loved, and it is human nature to receive love and give love. This love that we receive and give is what makes us what we are. We have different ways of showing our affections and people perceive it differently.

To feel part of something means that we are all part of a group and each person is part of different groups according to the different environments we live in. At home you might be the boss or number two but at work you are number ten or one for that matter.

In each group there is a hierarchy system in place. It is natural because we need to know who and where we are and how we fit into this structure. In some structures there will be competition for the top places, like in the workplace, but in the home environment there will usually be an accepted structure where no one is competing for the other ones position.

If you however are competing for a higher position your adversary is not the hierarchy system but the person who is in the position which you wish to obtain. In the animal kingdom this is mainly done by brute force, whereas for us humans it is cunning and strategy.

Whether it is at home or at work or any other place this hierarchy system is in place, the system does not change and it is there for the sole purpose of order. This brings us to the hierarchy in the internet. The search engines are in a hierarchy of their own competing for the top position for what they do, which is finding relevant information for the people who are using them.

The three main contenders for the top position are Google, Yahoo and MSN. They are the advisories of one another. Now these are all huge businesses and their purpose is a good experience for the visitor that means they want to give the visitor what he is looking for, good information.

SEO - Can You Start an SEO Business For Free
Many Internet gurus will lead you to believe that you can make a ton of money as an SEO marketer without making any initial investment into it as a business. This is completely false. Although it is true that you can write a blog strewn with affiliates on a free site, or make yourself up a fancy online business card on a build it yourself website you are probably not going to make much money unless you have a little bit of money to invest in a high quality website with a decent domain name. Many gurus who write books about this stuff will tell you that you

Would you agree that the purpose of the search engine is different from yours?

Here is the million dollar question, why are so many webmasters under the impression that they are fighting with the search engines for top positions?

You are not competing with the search engine for the top position; your adversary is the site that is in the top position now. This is the page the search engine favors, and it is giving the search engine what it requires.

To enable you to get on the first page of any search engine result for your specific keywords you need to do the same but better.

To be able to compete for those top positions you need to know everything about your adversaries so that once you come up against them you are fully prepared.

How do you go about doing this?

    • First and foremost, content. Visit each of the top ten results and have a look at what content and how much they are providing. Check the keyword density of the keywords on each page. Now you will know how to structure and write your content.
    • Next, look at their title tags, meta tags, bold, italic, image alt tags, h1 and h2 tags. Note all of this information down so you are able to emulate the way in which they have prepared their pages.
    • See how many outgoing links there are on the page and what the anchor texts of those links are.
    • Have a look if their keyword phrase is in the first and last twenty five words of their text.
    • Now have a look at how many sites are linking to them, the anchor text, and you will know what you need from an off page optimization perspective.
    • Once you have all this information at hand you can prepare your page to compete, and have a chance. Emulate what they have done and make it better.

Remember writing your own content is always the best idea but you can use articles and PLR content.

Don’t try to fight the search engine, it is your ally, your foe is the sites that have the
