Small business owners continually strive to increase customer loyalty. Public Relations for Health Equipment Companies and Rentals
If you own a health care or health equipment rental business there are some very neat community based public relations projects you can be involved with which will cost you little or no money. Many small and medium sized businesses do not realize all the things they can do to generate the goodwill and Public Relations they need. However if one is creative they maybe shocked as to how well they can do in the local community if they put their minds to it and think outside the box.Let me give you an example of a project that we did in the early 90s with a group of citizens to promote handicap access ramps. We rounded up some community leaders and we took them to business districts and asked them to get around the town and navigate while in wheel chairs. An interesting aspect of the proposed new Security & Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations on Executive Compensation relate to the need to supply justification for their decisions (see February 2006 issue for details of the proposed regulation). Currently, most Boards provide a written section, which discusses their general philosophy, such as “providing a total compensation package for executives that is competitive with a group of comparable companies”. In recent public filings, the narrative has even spelled out relative to the measures that will be used in evaluating the level of performance achieved, in order to show that the Compensation Committee has imposed realistic performance metrics as the justification for granting incentives and equity based awards.In the past, the specific numerical targets have not been

The Little Thing That Can Make You Big Money: Small Business Marketing
For the last week I’ve been listening to a 27 hour-long marketing seminar that was recorded back in 2000 and it is very interesting how the little things just pop out at you when you spend so much time immersed in a topic.Now I don’t expect all of you to spend your time immersed in marketing the way Travis and I do on a daily basis, day-after-day.BUT I do expect you to take the advice we give you because we’re boiling it down for you and hopefully making you think about things you wouldn’t have thought about otherwise, challenging you to do things you wouldn’t normally do and making your brain work in ways it doesn’t naturally.But while listening I was reminded of something so simple and so critical to your marketing and business success that I don’t know if we’ve mentioned here before. Financing the business is not a one time activity as some might think.
