Management at all levels must understand the changing role and importance of front-line customer service operations to achieve the core mission of the business, i.e., customer retention, customer acquisition, customer satisfaction, employee retention and increased profitability.

The lead generation business is a fierce one, full of people over-promising and under-delivering. But don't take my word regarding the issue, go ahead and try it for yourself. I know I learned this lesson the hard way!
