Successfully Selling Your Professional Services this social network behemoth if you know where to look.As a professional service provider you face special challenges promoting yourself to potential clients. You may have certain restrictions on how you market or advertise. You may feel overwhelmed by the demands of being both owner and employee. You might not have a strong base of effective selling & marketing skills. In addition, you may believe that self promotion is somehow unprofessional and pushy or even unnecessary. Ever consider what each of these messages is really asking you to consider?I just opened up the web browser on one of my PC's. Straight away I'm faced with an ad from Virgin Credit Cards "Things get more exciting when you say yes!" presumably that means saying 'yes' to debt - in this case it's by clicking on the word 'yes' which opens a musical jewellery-box. A ballerina proceeds to leap out from her fixed spinning and start gyrating like a mental raver! Oh people are definitely searching for MySpace information. I removed the keywords as my site had nothing to do with MySpace. Next day I log back into MySpace, and see that I have had a half dozen profile views, and 1 person wants to be my "friend". I post a couple of more messages in the forums, then don't check back for a few days. Now in that short period of time a couple of things happened. Not only were visitors seeing me on MySpace, but the blog was being distributed outside of the site. So of course I jumped back on MySpace, went looking for new friends, and made a bunch more forum posts & replies. Traffic and hits kept piling up and I knew I was onto something good. Then I got kicked off of MySpace. No warnings, no explanation, not even a notice.... my account simply no longer existed. I was able to piece together what happened by going back
