The Secret To Growing Your Business Exponentially
Naturally, with it being the end of the year, I have been spending some time reflecting on the previous year in order to get idea of where I want the business to go in 2007. As I thought about 2006 a couple of significant standouts came to mind. The first example that came to mind was MySpace. In 2006 it hit its peak (at least in popularity) by becoming one of the most visited websites on the Internet. I’d say that a site created by one guy which now has traffic levels comparable to MSN and Yahoo is doing something right. And apparently News Corp. thought the same because it purchased MySpace for a few billion dollars.Or what about the huge the explosive growth and eventual acquisition of YouTube. It went from a pretty cool website to a $1.6 Billion part of the Google machine.Wouldn’t you like your business to have the same kind of results in 2007 that these businesses experienced in 2006? I know I would. That got me thinking and the one thing that I realized about all these success stories of the past year is that they all

You’ll have a much greater ability to achieve your goals because you will have a blueprint to guide your way.Surprisingly, many people if not most will go to a friend or relative for advice. People who have never succeeded and have no ambition to go anywhere, and then these same people are surprised when they too don't succeed or even get very far. Then they look for excuses and re

Employee Committment: Modern Tribes and The Death Of Entitlement
In many parts of the world, people still band together in primitive tribes. They work in unison and do whatever is necessary to survive. Life is harsh. When they make mistakes, they die. We are lucky in that for our modern tribes or companies the consequence of failure is rarely death. Of all similarities between tribes, primitive and modern, it is the ability to maintain battle readiness during times of prosperity that is most critical. When the living is easy, the opportunities to work in harmony under stress are infrequent. Teamwork skills soften. There is very little need for personal sacrifice, as success is abundant. However, when times turn tough, it is common for individuals to believe that they will be insulated from risk. If they continue doing as they did in prosperity, they will be fine. In modern tribes, people may deny that times have changed. They are offended when asked to make personal sacrifices for the good of the tribe. They believe that the tribe will always succeed and has an obligation to take care of them. They are unaware that it is their

They were too unwilling to look to other companies to help create revenue for themselves. This is mistake #2 made by many dot coms. They do not rely on the many free online services available to create extra revenue.

Unwillingness to rely on other online businesses to make you money is another downfall of those seeking to make a profit online. Too many times, online businesses want to "make it on their own." This is a fallacy that could keep you from tens of thousands of dollars. There are several methods to employ other businesses in your aid, at no cost to your company. Three of these that offer you free marketing or a nice side income are: Google AdSense, Banner Ad Programs, and Affiliate Programs.

Besides these two pitfalls, there are also the usual dangers that all businesses face. Budgeting, managing, offline advertising, customer service etc. have also resulted in the crumble of many online stores, as many of these businesses do not think that normal business practices apply to online sales. Now that we have discussed some of the stumbling blocks of integrating your business online, let’s discuss how you can make more money.

First, a dot com business like any other business needs a stable business structure and strategy. Many businesses going online start up thinking that the Internet automatically makes money for them. This is a fallacy that you cannot fall into. Just as any other business, Internet businesses require time and dedication. In some respects, this is easier if you are an already well established small business. Establishing a strong infrastructure is very important to your company. An organization useful in finding up-to-date business structure information is the SBA (Small Business Association).

Once you have a stable business structure, integrating your company online is much easier. Although selling products online is a major goal of most businesses looking to the Internet for profit, there are also many other online money making methods. Some of these are:

    • Google AdSense
    • Affiliate Programs
    • Banner Ad Programs
