    1,000 Details Make The Difference!
I was doing an extensive consulting program for a major insurance company when I found myself saying, to the trainers I was training, “A thousand details make the difference,” between producing outstanding success and marginal respectability.A thousand? Isn’t that overstating the case? Not at all.If you are a successful person at any level of business I assure you that you know at least 1,000 mo
In part 1 of this article series on internet marketing, I discussed my own personal entry into the world of the internet. It has been a journey characterized by many new concepts, countless hours of work and again, countless hours of still more work. The opinions expressed are all my own. You may feel free to object to anything I say. You are even encouraged to give your own opinions and experiences and they will be published on this site(if you wish).

I still firmly believe in the promise of the internet. I hope that these articles will serve as a reality check for anyone seeking to create websites. I have read hundreds, if not thousands of articles on the correct way to develop and promote a website. The problem is, that what works today, may backfire on you tomorrow. The temptation is to take the fast and easy road to try to achieve success and a high website ranking. Once you become "visible" on the internet, you will see a rapid increase in your email popularity. If you don't get at least 10 offers a day for software that will take your website to the top, you are one of the lucky ones. My advice is to ignore all of them until you have a good grasp of internet protocols and some rules that you should follow from day one.

The first thing to learn is that there is no substitute for slow and methodical growth of websites. Organic growth will get you a lot further than a site that magically springs up overnight like a giant beanstalk. A lot of software that is available will appeal to the " I want it right now" crowd. By this I mean that there is software available that will submit your site to 50,000 search engines, link you to a million other sites and just plain get you into trouble.

How to Formulate your Quality Policy Statement and Quality Objectives in your ISO Quality Manual
When embarking on a new quality management system and writing a new quality manual for your organization, one of the most important decisions to make is how your quality policy statement should read. By this I mean that there is software available that will submit your site to 50,000 search engines, link you to a million other sites and just plain get you into trouble. Anyone with any knowledge of the internet has heard of Google, Yahoo, MSN and other search engines. The trouble with being discovered by these search engines is that they all have different algorithms for listing and rating sites.

What works for one engine may hurt you on another. The best you can do is try to keep up with some of the basics of good site structure. Websites that appear overnight with 1,000 pages and 200 links to other sites, will not be looked upon favorably. They might get treated as "Spam" sites and get blacklisted. You must avoid this at all costs. There are strategies widely available that are considered "black hat" strategies. They may get you a high search engine ranking for the moment, but in the long run will almost certainly lead to problems with the search engines.

They stretch the rules of what is acceptable, and in many cases cause more problems than they solve. You don't want to get your site banned because of some promotional strategy that is in favor for the moment. Many of you have probably heard of the "Google Dance". This refers to Google(one of the largest and most influential search engines), changing their algorithms for website ranking. It's because of this, that websites may rise, and even more suddenly, fall in page rank(Google's method of rating the importance of web pages).
