Should You Upgrade Your E-zine From Text to HTML?
A few years ago, when I first started seeing HTML e-zines in my inbox, I admit I was jealous. They were attractive, attention getting, snazzy. They made my text e-zines look boring. But my mind fought the idea of upgrading my own. "My readers appreciate my e-zine for its content," I told myself. "They don't need some slick design to get their attention. They just want my information, str

    Back Links

You will here a lot of buzz online about back links. They are really important and you need them – in fact, you have to check for them and increase them!

What are they?!?! Are the secret back doors into your website? Secret links to the back?

A back link is very simply a link from another site to your own. Why do you need them? Because many of the search engines use the number of links to your site to determine the popularity of your site. There is a lot more to it than this, but that’s the simple explanation.

You can have a one way back link or a two way back link. A one way back link is where a site points to yours with no reciprocal link back to theirs. A two way back link is where you have a link on their site to yours.

    Bandwidth.

This is nothing to do with that rather portly band that played at your best friends wedding – it is the amount of data that can be sent through a connection or it is the amount of data a web host will allow you to have sent to your site.

If you have a modem at home then your bandwidth is likely to be limited to about 56Kb (Kilobits). If you have broadband when you could have up to 8Mb (Megabits of bandwidth). Basically, the higher the number the more data you can transfer and the faster your downloads / uploads.

Futurists and Prescription for the Future
Many people read articles and books from futurists with interest. Some are fascinated by the borderline science fiction and reality blend. If you are one of those people you have probably noticed that the world of innovation and discovery is moving faster than ever before in human history. One book, which I recommend is:“Prescription for the Future-How the Technology is Changing the Pulse o

Levi's - Fashion Brand or Denim Icon?
Denim icon. There are a multitude of fashion brands in the market, especially in the jeans market, however none achieve the iconic status and brand salience as Levi’s. The fortified and unique image of the Levi’s brand allows them to not only be the most recognised but dominate the jeans market from markedly more expensive competitors. Levi’s can be mentioned in the same breath as Diesel, Ralph La

    Being a Good Coach
Every sales manager or director knows that they have to spend some time training and working with their staff so they continue to improve, however frequently managers get so caught up in their own schedules that they neglect coaching for other duties. When you’ve got new staff, that isn’t a good idea. Whether experienced or not, all reps need polishing from time and time depending on their level

If you have some webspace then you may have noticed you have a monthly bandwidth allowance. This is how much data your webhost will allow to be transferred to / from your website before they either impose extra fees or shut down your website. Always pay attention to your website bandwidth – particularly when you are doing a new promotion – the last thing you want is for your site to be down because you’ve used your bandwidth allowance and no one can get to your site to spend their money!

    Blog

This is nothing to do with frogs. It is a shortened form of Web Log simply because Web Log is far too long for many Internet geeks to say and Blog makes it sound cool and mysterious (which of course – all geeks long to be).

A blog is simply an online diary. It is a journal where you either post your personal thoughts or thoughts related to your business. Yes, it can be a lot more complicated than that when you think about RSS feeds, Adsense and other jargon, but it is still basically an online diary.

You can install your own on your webhost or get a free account at blogger.com or any number of other sites offering free blogs. They are a “big thing” in Internet Marketing, and you should have one!
