I give away a lot of free stuff, primarily ebooks and of course, my free ecourses. You see, the books, I can scan them to make sure that they have strong value, and of course the ones that I write have strong value , but with software, unless I upload it and use it, I have no idea if it really works like the sales page says it does. And even though it is free, if it does not work or I cannot help someone if they ask me for help installing some software, it eats away at my own credibility.

I usually give away a free gift to induce someone to subscribe, and then I usually give away a few more free gifts in the first few days that they are on my list. I simply load them into my autoresponder and then they all get the gifts and I don’t have to think about them, of course.
