5 Surefire Ways to Bring Your Business Objectives Full Circle with Technology
All small to mid-sized company owners want to know where their dollar is being spent when it comes to computer technology in their organization. The challenge is for them to get the information they need to make the right purchasing decisions. ‘Tell me in English why you think we need this technology in our company?’ That question goes through every company owner’s mind and mouth. Getting the answer that makes sense to them is another story. How can the people in charge of your company understand what the value is of specific technology i

Developing a High Performance Project Team
Much is written in Project Management journals about every conceivable facet of project teams. Topics about their organization, culture, communication with clients, problem solving skills, etc. are virtually endless. There are lots of rules, tips, and suggestions about what they should do but not as much on how to do it.For example, "high performance work teams" has been a catch phrase for a long time. Everyone wants to create one or think they are a part of one. But how would a PM actually develop one? I
Writing…Blogs…Blogs are on-line journals where people express themselves through writing. Writing…Writing is the process where one puts down words of a language on a format that others can read. This process has not been around very long, to use one of my writing teacher’s favorite sayings, “Writing has only existed for one day in the one year that humanity has existed.” Speaking and thinking come much easier than writing. These processes just flow out naturally like a river of consciousness; sometimes we hardly have to think about doing them. Anyone and everyone can write words down on paper but that doesn’t mean it’s ‘good writing’, myself included. Like most things in life, our society already takes writing for granted which is proving to expose more of our ignorance. Writing is a new form of expression, and if we want to do it in a way that the masses can connect with our ideas, we have to think much more simply and clearly about this art.

I didn’t even mention this main idea, and that’s what an introduction paragraph is meant to be for. This is a common mistake in many blogs out there. We try to get too many ideas across in one paragraph, sometimes even in one sentence! The key, as in all things in life-is to keep it simple. Don't Use PR
…lose the confidence of your key target audiences… discourage them from taking actions that lead to your success…fail to achieve your department, division or subsidiary objectives.A sad scenario that should not occur. In fact, as a manager in a business, non-profit or association, the exact opposite can occur based on a simple premise you can adopt and make happen starting today. And here it is: People act on their own perception of the facts before them, which leads to predictable behaviors about which something can be done.

The Idea of the Internet Homogenizing Culture
The issue concerning whether the Internet plays a pivotal role in globalization is a highly contentious and debatable topic. Globalization, often defined as “the integration of economic capital markets and culture throughout the world” is seen as a concept that has both negative as well as positive benefits. The rate of growth in the globalization of nations and geographical regions is seen to be heavily assisted by the speed of information knowledge that the Internet provides. However, although in theory, the sharing of knowledge i

How To Build Your Profits Through Endorsements
An endorsement can be an extremely powerful business booster, particularly when the person doing the endorsing is well known and respected by the people who read or hear what he or she has to say. Your endorser doesn’t have to be a famous sportsperson, a film star, or a university president to command respect; someone who is ‘visible’ in your community’s business life will just do fine! Also the endorsement’s wording doesn’t have to be (in fact shouldn’t be) run-of-the-mill. It can say a lot more than “Louise runs a fabulous haird

The Top 10 Things They Don't Teach You In Business School
Here are 10 subjects that academia should be teaching their students in business school:1. Generate revenue for your companyWhat academia doesn’t teach you is that the real purpose organizations hire you is to generate revenue. Pure and simple. How do you do that? Look around and ask yourself, how can I increase productivity, efficiency, effectiveness and profitability in my area of responsibility? If you work in a non-profit arena, you ask yourself the same question. It is not “profit” in your case, it is “surplus funds.” I

Try to tie everything up in the concluding paragraph, your main argument and the reason why you’ve written in the first place.

Grammar and sentence construction are not easy systems to master, especially if you come from a school system that spent more time telling you about historical battles and quadratic equations than on how to read and write. This is a real problem. When we speak we can get messages across to others easily, but if we put these words down on paper, the writing just isn’t interesting and doesn’t connect with people’s curiosities and fascination. When you write you are not talking to a close friend. You can’t use slang and colloquialisms that only your local community can understand. The aim is to connect with all the people in the world, so let’s make it crystal clear and enjoyable to read.

Your computer has spelling and grammar checks, as well as access to a thesaurus. Use them, but remember that the machine can’t decipher all the intricacies of language. Language is a world in itself, and much of its territories are undiscovered by the masses. So, again keep it simple. Short, precise sentences with single ideas are great. Many words in the English language have the same meanings (synonyms). Use the thesaurus so you don’t repeat t
