From my own experience, I can tell you that creating my own websites to promote affiliate products has resulted in a lot of knowledge. I have an understanding about why these books exist and why I need to avoid them, all the while making money from my endeavors without feeding the fat pockets of the gurus claiming not to be gurus.

Bottom line, if you want to be successful in the long term with your affiliate marketing endeavors, try having a website or several websites of your own. It may take a while to build your business, but in the long run, you just might end up being more successful than those that try to use tricks and gimmicks.
