Trends Worth Billions – Consumer Demand Drives the Speed of Business (Part 3 of a 3-Part Series)With our daily time frames accelerating and demographics shifting, the need for businesses to get on top of their game becomes ever more important. For example, while the pizza trend took a couple of decades to get firmly rooted in our culture, consider how quickly the cell phone has become an essential ‘gotta have one’ product. And camera phones, the next stage in positioning the trend, are moving even faster. Introduced four years ago in Japan, 57 million camera phones were sold by 2003, with expected sales of 338 million by 2008. If a non-essential trend product such as camera phones can foster that much growth, how will the growth of more essential products and services that serve an aging population fare?Understanding trends gives you a profile of the marketplace, both what is beginning to appear now and what will be happening in the near and far distant future. They serve as an early predictor of how consumers are feeling, what products and services they will be seeking, and how businesses can respond to the anticipated needs. The best time to position a business is before the trend is well established. After all, market position is vital to the long-term success of a business.Trend marketing is the foundation of future growth. It is the ability to pinpoint and respond to the changing needs of the customer and do so better than anyone else. While traditional marketing activities, such as customer service, branding, advertising and promotions are vitally important, unless you have identified your future customer, all these activities have no point. Before you can market, you have to know your market. Doesn’t that make sense? While conventional marketing competes over a limited market, trend marketing assumes the growth of a market because of changing demographics. The epitome of trend marketing is to be where the customer is looking before they know they’ll be looking t oNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto">

Have you been journaling for many years ? Have you ever considered that the age old tradition of journaling could help make you more profitable in your business life.
Even CEO’s of Fortune 500 Companies today are using journaling for profit.
I have been journaling for several years… In our Small business office we have a leads journal where all brand new prospective business is immediately written down so we don’t lose it…. Particularly when I get distracted and go off on one of my creative tangents.
I have a daily journal where I write notes on every conversation that I have with a client or supplier as I am having the chat… so I will remember any and all main points, plus my commitments… I have a journal that I write notes in when I am listening to classes or courses so that I can quickly review the information and think about how I want to think about the information. However, recently I discovered a new twist on the art of journaling.

He had a rather novel approach Laser Cutting Laser cutting is a technology that uses a laser in cutting different kinds of materials, mostly metals such as carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel and copper alloys. It is widely used in the metal fabrication industry to increase cutting speed and cutting capacity, reduce production costs, increase productivity and improve cutting quality.A laser or LASER (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) is a device that generates a highly concentrated monochromatic and coherent beam of light. The light is produced through the process of stimulated emission.Among the most commonly used laser in cutting is the carbon dioxide laser (CO2 laser), a kind of gas laser that is also used in welding. It is capable of emitting a maximum of 100 kilowatts at 9.6 µm and 10.6 µm and of cutting 20-30 m of one millimeter-thick material in a minute.Cutting is done by aiming the energy produced by the high-power laser at a small portion of the object to be cut. That small portion is pierced first before a cut is made. From the small hole, a cut is created either by moving the beam across the area of the material being cut, or by moving the object while the laser is kept still. One can employ both methods. As the intense beam of light strikes the part of the object or material, the latter?s temperature rises, causing it to melt, burn and evaporate even without sufficient amount of heat. Not all materials require the same amount of laser power (the rate at which energy is delivered by the light). Thicker materials need more laser power while thinner ones need lesser laser power. Usually, carbon dioxide laser cutting is done with 1,000 to 1,500 watts. Materials such as steel need more than two kW.Compared to other metal cutting procedures, laser cutting is far more advantageous, although it has some disadvantages, too. Its primary advantages are precision, cuttingg could help make you more profitable in your business life.

He had a rather novel approach Cut Down On Business Paperwork With HR Workflow Management Software At its simplest definition, workflow is the movement of documents and/or tasks through a work process, and for many people, the idea of Human Resources and workflow in business involves the improvement of processing paperwork. Workflow is the operational aspect of a work procedure: how tasks are structured, who performs them, how they are synchronised, how tasks are tracked; the tasks involved in determining workflow are numerous and can have a serious impact on a business' productivity. The most common HR processes include appraisals, new starters, maternity, absence, holiday booking and leavers.Workflow involves various components and people and each facet must integrate with the others in order to process and complete a task. For example, an employee wants to book a holiday and fills in a paper form. Details of the holiday from will be delivered to the employee’s line manager, who will check to see if there is sufficient cover before authorizing the holiday. The paper form is then delivered to the HR department who then makes a note of details of the employee’s holiday and subtracts the time from the employees holiday balance. The employee then receives a form showing that the holiday has been authorized and details of their new holiday balance.Workflow is critical to driving greater efficiency within HR. It is a process which delivers the right work to the right people at the right time, eradicating the need for highly labour intensive activities and considerably reducing the need for paper to be pushed around the office. In essence Workflow can help to reduce costs, improve productivity, provide faster processing times and of course is a major player in helping to sustain the world’s declining tree population. A HR process may require interaction from many departments. Therefore, HR processes are well suited for automation because typically these processes are paper based, ma

He had a rather novel approach Helping Businesses Profit from Saving Energy “A 20% saving in energy consumption can have the same effect as a 5% increase in sales.”In many instances, business finance management isn’t a million miles from personal finance. Think of the average person’s income and outgoings. Most people are well-aware of what they earn every month, and they often work all-hours chasing pay increases and bonuses. On the other hand, ask someone about their outgoings (mortgage, loans, credit cards) and they’ll probably not have considered them for a while.Making profit is what commercial business is about, of course. But, energy costs are a similar elusive outgoing. Like credit cards or loans for the average person, the payment of energy bills are often taken as a given – they are just paid without a second thought. And, in the current environment where energy prices are rising rapidly, this is an area of spend that UK plc needs to take seriously.Energy prices are a difficult battle to win – we’re not suggesting you change provider, or indeed stand outside your energy supplier building with picket boards. But, there is a battle you can win that’s closer to home. Namely, being more aware of the energy you’re using every day, week and year. The fact is, lower energy costs bring immediate savings to the bottom line. It’s actually one way of increasing profitability without increasing sales. According to the Carbon Trust, a 20% saving in energy consumption – realistically achievable by most businesses – can have the same positive effect as a 5% increase in sales. It now sounds more attractive, doesn’t it?So, what can you do about your energy consumption?Energy audit
By taking an energy audit, you could get a comprehensive and individual behind-the-scenes picture of your building. You could find out more about your heating usage, lighting, air conditioning and ventilation, and discover where operatiotes on every conversation that I have with a client or supplier as I am having the chat… so I will remember any and all main points, plus my commitments… I have a journal that I write notes in when I am listening to classes or courses so that I can quickly review the information and think about how I want to think about the information. I was in a class on a Sat. with one of my favorite coaches . Joe had flown in from San Diego to spend the day with our group. He had a rather novel approach Soap Box And Rants From Lance From Days Gone By, Part I Okay so I do a lot of research; have traveled afar and obviously I have something to say. Ah; “Rants from Lance” indeed. Yes in fact it is over do but it is time; It is Soap Box time; I Read an interesting article today about the fact that 80% of all penalties for employment withholding costs were fined to small businesses with under ten employees. Probably because when the large companies were small they were fined and learned along the way, as they got bigger to outsource employment tasks or hire attorneys to slow down the investigating agencies. I say this fact has made a market niche for employment agencies and taken another fee from the laborers. For instance many of our franchisees have hired employees through temporary or employment agencies because of the time involved in accounting and penalties from an anti-small business group of regulators and a huge employment government agency in many states. Which attack businesses to justify their own existence. Interestingly enough these government agencies burn up half of all monies collected in administration. Those unemployment agencies need to charge more fines to stay in business, now they have more output and accusations amongst laid off workers fly and these agencies investigate even though most claims are false and lies from disgruntled, low out put employees who want something for nothing. For instance I can call up the unemployment board of nearly any state and without any proof can make up a charge and they will go investigate it. Similar to the FTC which I know first hand does, having attacked my company based on false complaints and declarations coming from competitors. They are criminals at the FTC, well, at least the case-worker in our deal. The FTC has industry coordinators for various sectors within their once great Kennedy organization, suffer from low self-esteem, save the world, conspiracy theorist attitudeoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto">

Here’s the gist of it.
Joe uses two journals…An imput journal and an output journal..
The input journal is used when listening to tapes, reading a book, generally for learnings and thoughts on learnings..
The Output Journal :
Step 1/ Make a list of everything on your mind , literally, dump it out......put air in the Mercedes tire, buy a new electric toothbrush, pick up fresh vegy's…. And on and boring on…no matter how seemingly small or petty.
The idea behind this is that you dump your load. Today our minds are in overwhelm, we have so much coming at us… there is no room for more.
I have been practicing this for about 6 weeks now. Just a couple times a week. It is interesting how it empties the mind. Ergo the well known zen koan that suggests the tea cup that is overflowing cannot retain any new content, therefore we have to learn to
