The person besides my mentor who influenced me the most was my grandfather, Stanley. He always said to me, "Rene, you need to work hard to get the education you need to succeed." I could have gone the traditional route and enrolled at a local college who charged $30,000 for a 6 month program on search engine optimization. I chose a different path, one that's been far more profitable. In my mentor's program a classmate shared how a friend of his completed the college's search engine optimization course and still worked as a car mechanic. My mentor explained that by the time the college created their curriculum, and offered the courses the information taught would be outdated because Google keeps making their algorithm more and more complex.

In July 2000, I started a work at home internet marketing business out of my bachelor apartment. What I'm about to share is not meant as a boast of accomplishments. Rather, it's to discuss key insights I've learned along the way so that others may benefit as well.

This eliminates the annoyance of building a website, getting it ranked and not getting paid for the traffic you send to your merchants. Not all merchant managers or programs will let you generate over $20,000 a month. In fact, it is usually the top 2 to 3 affiliate marketer in each merchant program that generate 90 percent of the sales commissions.

One of the factors that allowed my mentor to build over 100 sites and generate an income of over $100, 000 USD a month is that if he didn't know the answer, he would outsource it (i.e. hire someone who did). Over 50 students belonged on his team or network. We all paid a monthly fee based on the number of our websites in order to access his expertise. This is why from my personal experience, if you can not afford $100, 000 for research, you may want to belong to a group of people who can help share the cost. The reason my mentor t succeeded is that he stayed on top of the search engines by outsmarting them. This is the secret to his success and mine.

By fulfilling my needs I found the gasoline or energy so to speak and to focus 15 hours a day on building my Affiliate Marketing business. For instance, I trained in Judo and was fortunate enough to beat the Canadian Women's 56 kilo weight champion, Karen Sheffield at the age of 17 with a knockout throw. I trained six months in Japan six hours a day to get to the level that I achieved. Building a six figure income a month is no different than working with a team of coaches and a sport psychologist to win the gold medal in the Olympics. More and more people are accepting the idea of getting coaching. It is no longer a foreign concept.

The point I am trying to drive is that you have to do some soul searching to find that roaring fire of passion within you. There are 2 aims that a SEO coach does: improving your performance of specific tasks (such as improving your search engine rankings in Google, Yahoo, MSN), or enhancing the quality of your life.
