ust hate all those Internet scams? Me too. In the last three years, I spent thousands of dollars on Internet Marketing products that turned out to be useless. I was so angry that I created this site, just so that other people won’t go through the same pain that I did.

Debt-Free Living- A Freelancer's Personal Tale of Getting & Staying There
I got my first credit card at 18 and have been in credit card debt ever since - sometimes severely. That's over 20 years of a love-hate relationship with the plastic. Then, a friend loaned me the book, The Total Money Makeover, by Dave Ramsey. The book is about getting - and staying - out of debt. Excellent book by the way whether you have bad credit, good credit and/or no credit. Following is my story. One of the credos
Perhaps you are thinking about starting up an Internet Business, or you are looking online for Work at Home opportunities.

There are numerous Internet Marketers offering you eBooks, software, tools, websites, business opportunities, membership clubs, etc.

The first question you need to ask yourself is this: is there anyone on this list that I can trust?

And the answer that I recommend may seem cynical, but here it is. Don’t blindly trust anyone on the web!

Certainly, there are ethical Internet Marketers out there, offering very good products and services. You may be lucky enough to stumble across one of the honest ones!

On the other hand, there are numerous Internet Marketers who are just out to make a fast buck. You can waste a lot of money, chasing down deal after deal, and getting nowhere.

What you need to realize is that the marketers have worked out a number of clever tricks and deceptive practices.

For example, one fairly common trick is for the scammer to create a fake review site, which recommends the scammer’s own product!

They count on people being unfamiliar with Internet technology. When people see a professional looking Web site, offering what seems to be useful advice, they tend to believe it.

However, it is actually easy and very inexpensive to set up a web site. It is also easy to create a bogus identity for yourself on a web page.

For instance, let’s pretend that I am a dishonest Internet Marketer (Slick Larry). I have an expensive (but useless) product that I am selling to newbies.

So I set up a new Web site. I call it Honest John’s Internet Marketing Reviews.

My home page starts out like this:

The Small Retailer's Survival Guide - Part 2 - Go Local!
If you are you running a small local independent store, you have no doubt experienced what the big regional/national chains can do to your business. They buy much lower than you do and also sell lower. Occasionally they will sell at a lower price than you can buy from your wholesaler. It is not uncommon to see private label goods from big chains being openly sold in small outlets. This article is not going to bleat about how unfair the sit

    Brand Reinforcement in PowerPoint
The fundamental nature of PowerPoint makes it an ideal selling tool. You have a group of people, stuck in a room, listening to a speaker for an extended period of time -- anywhere from fifteen minutes to an hour or more. This enclosed environment exists only for the presenters to sell something, whether it is a product, a service, or an idea. However, many presenters, especially those with a corporate interest in mind, fail to capita

What Your Cleaning Company Needs to Know About MSDS
There is no way a cleaning company can effectively do its job without using chemicals. Your company may use just a few basic products or a multitude of cleaners for various situations. No matter how many or how few chemicals you use, it's important that you have the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for each different product that your company uses. These data sheets contain information on how to handle the product as well as the emergenc

Finding And Using A Sample Mission Statement
There are many important elements to the creation of any new business, but the mission statement is perhaps the most critical. After all, it is the mission statement which sets the tone for the business and tells the world what the operation is all about. Fortunately for the new business owner, there are many places where a sample mission statement can be found.Books Devoted To Business PlanningFor instance, it

The site then presents a list of “recommended” products and business opportunities. I make sure that at least one of the recommended products is owned by me, Slick Larry.

This is a great trick! The average surfer is going to believe “Honest John”. After all, he has been burned by the scammers, just like I have. He’s one of us! And he’s not selling anything, like those slick Internet Marketing types!

Your guard is down. If you go ahead and buy any of the recommended products, you will get burned.

A variation of this trick is where the site proudly proclaims itself to be “scam-free”. It then goes on to recommend products that are supposedly not scams (but they are!).

This type of activity is so common that you need to learn how to recognize it. Otherwise, you will lose money on useless products and waste your time on “business opportunities” that will never make money.

You can protect yourself from this type of scam, and from all the other scams too!

A good place to start is my book “Scams and Deceptions”. In this book, I describe the various tricks and deceptive practices that are commonly used. The book also provides a set of resources to help you determine whether a business or product is worthwhile.
