    Medical Billing - GU0 Record Fields 8 Through 17
Medical billing can be a real nightmare. No wonder the turnover with medical billers is so great. Between the number of regulations, pile of forms and tons of red tape, it's enough to make anybody crazy. One of the worst culprits is the DMEPOS CMN, or the GU0 record, which is used for electronic transmission of claims using NSF 3.01 specifications. In this installment, we'll be covering the GU0 record, picking up with

The Power of Delighting a Customer
It used to be a priviledge when I could spend nights in great restaurants, all the while knowing someone else was picking up the check! As the President and owner of Chicago’s most prominent wine stores, I was usually the chosen one when producers and winemakers came to town.Several things have changed since those days. Most notably, I have less hair than before and we recently sold our wine stores. Those fancy
Every now and then, everyone needs a refresher course. Business owners are no exception. Just to refresh your memory, in my last article I talked about ways to “Make Your Business Grow.” Today, I want to continue that train of thought.

Several years ago I attended a business seminar and although I don’t remember much about what was said, one thing that I do remember was the “cheap, fast and good rule in business.” I don’t know who made up this rule, but it seems to be one of the primary truths in all of business.

The speaker began by saying that you can never have all three items together at the same time. In other words, if you are purchasing any thing, you may want it cheap and fast, but it won’t be good. You may want it cheap and good, but it won’t be fast. Take Your Power Back From PowerPoint
Have Australian researchers put a stake through the heart of the infamous PowerPoint presentation? Research from the University of North South Wales revealed that the human brain retains more information if it is presented either in verbal or written form, but not both at the same time, the method common to PowerPoint presentations.UNSW education professor John Sweller calls it “cognitive load theory,” and says Pow

    Business Cards
Business cards are often exchanged when business people meet each other. It is a great marketing tool that can be used to advertise your business. In most cases, the company logo, name, phone number, and address will be present on the card, with a list of services that the company offers. With the advent of the internet, many businesses are now adding their email address on the card as well. While business cards used desi

Pragmatic Ethics; Are You a Liar in Disguise?
Have you ever met someone who puts themselves out as ethical at every turn, always talking about ethics like a Catholic Priest who is screwing little kids behind everyone’s back yet preaching the Holy Bible the rest of the time? These pragmatic ethically challenged individuals are everywhere. Just when you think you have found an ethical person, as you learn more you find that their ethics only go so far. Kind of like a m

Let’s take as an example setting up a website. Anyone can create a website without having to know anything about html. Free websites are given away every day and it only takes a few minutes to create one; this is the cheap and fast, but not good rule. Having a website that will attract customers takes a lot of time to create.

And if you want a good website, unless you can create one on your own, it can be expensive to pay for the hosting, creating, and updating, not to mention the search engine optimization (seo), and ppc (pay per click) advertising. This is the good and fast part of the rule. And lastly, if you want a website that is good and cheap, prepare to wait a while for it to be up and running. I can imagine one person, in a home office working on your website at his convenience; he’s not in a hurry,
