Escape Planning - Using Fire Exits To Get Out Safely
Fire exits should be strategically located, with an outward opening door that has a crash bar and outward leading signs on it. Knowing where to find the emergency exits in a building that you frequent can save your life. Inward opening, rotating and sliding doors are unacceptable for use as fire exits, as they might need to be fixed open using a latch or chain if the door is needed as an exit route. In the UK, one exit is satisfactory for buildings where no more than 60 people work, as long as that the building is on the ground floor level only. The outsides of fire exits need to be kept clear and marked with a suitable keep clear sign. Whenever the building is in use, the exits should be well lit by normal mains lighting. Once your workplace follows a course of scheduled assessment, unsafe conditions can be recognized and corrected before they cause serious injuries.Learn the location of fire escape routes and how to set off the fire alarm. It might be necessary to make available "refuge points" for disabled or elderly persons to wait for assistance in some larger buildings. You should also remember staircase exits, since elevator

Your Site in a Shopping Centre - Location, Location!
Have you ever wondered just how all the retailers who have a shop at your local shopping centre, sorted out who’d go where? If you imagined that they didn’t really care – think again. The adage in real estate; location, location is just as relevant in the shopping centre placement game.Firstly some useful terms to clarify the language used:Anchor tenant – A major retailer such as a supermarket or discount department store who ‘anchors’ all or part of the centre. Usually found at either end. Satellite – A retail area physically separated from the main building, but sharing the car park etc. Handy for ‘utility’ type tenants such as car servicing. Traffic – The general term used for shopper ‘flow’ as identified by devices such as clickers. If you examine a selection of your local shopping centers, you will find a pattern emerging. There will be at least one anchor tenant. A large retailer, such as a supermarket, which will be placed usually at either end. This anchor has the job of attracting the bulk of traffic to the centre, and is essential for success. There will usually be a satellite set up on an edge of the car par

For Tammie C. Allen, former admin assistant to MTSU President Sidney McPhee, the unsolicited advances, kisses, groping and requests for sexual activities from her boss were less injurious than the humiliating and biased sexual harassment investigation that followed her complaint. She expressed this outrage in a civil complaint, seeking monetary redress for incurred medical expenses and "severe emotional distress, mental anguish, indignation, wounded pride, shame and despair." Medical Billing - DME Software Security
In this installment of medical billing and DME software, we're going to cover the topic of security, which can actually apply to any type of medical billing software since security is such a big issue these days. The whole topic of security pretty much stems from the HIPAA privacy rules. These rules cover just about everything, including health plans, health care providers, health care clearinghouses and billing agencies. If you're associated with the medical profession in any manner shape or form, you are probably under the HIPAA privacy rule umbrella. The main information that is protected by the HIPAA privacy rule is the patient's past, present, or future medical condition, the provision of health care to the patient, the past, present or future health care to the patient and all the patient's private information including social security number, EIN, or any other private information of the patient, including payments made by the patient or to the patient. The above is extremely simplified, as the law is pages long. There are also some limited disclosures that are allowed. Some covered agencies are allowed access to thi

    What's in a Face?
I once had a colleague that would roll his eyes at almost every idea that wasn’t his own. Additional facial expressions that complemented the eye-rolling were typically easy to spot as well: puffed cheeks then a release of air, sighs, furrowed brows, and other assorted expressions that gave everyone around the distinct impression that this individual thought he was way too smart to have to sit in meetings with the rest of us. One time someone called him out on it. The most interesting part of all of this was that he really didn’t have a clue that he was an eye-roller. He truly was not aware of the expressions he was making and even more importantly how they were negatively impacting the rest of the team.I’ve found two factors that can lead to problems with facial expressions. The first is the person being completely unaware of the face they are donning. Individuals who are not conscious of the picture they’ve painted on their face for others to see are usually also not fully aware of the impact they have on their group. The second factor that can lead to problems is in misreading the facial expressions in front of us. Concern ma

What is a Key Indicator and How Will it Impact my Business?
Key Indicator, as referred to in this article, applies to both KPI: Key Performance Indicators and KSI: Key Strategic IndicatorsKey Indicators allow you to track the health, growth and performance of your business. By looking at what values are important, then tracking and measuring them over time, you can determine exactly where you are in your progress towards your business development goals. Most business owners believe they have a ‘good feel’ for the way their business is running. This is probably true but it is not really enough for your business to be successful. The Key Indicators in your business need to be developed and scheduled to track and measure your progress over time.Key Indicators can be used to track both measurable and non measurable areas of your business. They can also be categorized as Performance (Key Performance Indicators) and Strategic (Key Strategic Indicators).Measurable Key Indicators are values that you can actually measure or calculate by looking at the operations of your Business including the inputs and outputs. Typical examples include: - Net Profit, Growth Rates, Sales Person Calls a

Work At Home Based Business – My Experience
I have four month of an experience at work at home based business opportunity and would like to share it here. It is not a talk of me, but of my experience, maybe can help new beginners. This experience is face to face with one thing: I am not from an English country and the English language is not used any day here. It has a specific useful at English schools, work, airport, hotels. There is no use day after day into household.Guess what: my work at home based business is in English. The second problem, that I learned to call it by a challenger, is my no experience at HTML language, even Internet marketing four months ago. I used to navigate at Internet, read email, open web sites and no more.Yes, I know you think I am unreasonable. But see it is always been my dream to have financial independence. It is not likely doing what I used to do. And my dream is too to reach a life style that Internet marketing offers as opportunity. But those last four months were great, although to discover that it would not bring enough income as I used to think. Why? I was a newbie and have just started. It is important to pay atte
