Casual Articles - Should You Show Your Cards?
Diabetes and Pregnancy is Not Sweet if you can force that player to go on tilt in order to make more money off their losing play. If you make this move, be prepared to take insults from the player and be called a few names. Ignore it. Enjoy their money. To bear a child in this world is no doubt one of the most wonderful things that can happen to a woman. But for some women, it is not as simple as carrying a child in your womb and delivering them after nine months. Such is the dilemma of women with diabetes. For the longest time, diabetes and pregnancy are two things that didn’t really mix well together. It was used to be discouraged by health workers and doctors due to the complications that may arise from the combination of the two. Thankfully, after years One move that I REALLY enjoy making is to show only one card. I see this quite a lot at tables where players in a heads up pot show their best card and muck the other one. I was playing in a live ?50 tourney a couple of weeks ago and was playing AQu UTG. Long story short, I’m heads up and the turn card gets checked to give a free river. I’ve made an A high flush and this donkey checks it to me. I bet the pot and he folds reluctantly. I show my If You Want To Fly Like An Eagle, Then Stop Hanging Out With Turkeys Should you show your cards when you win an uncontested pot?Success-bound people tend to hang out with fellow travelers and those who have already achieved a modicum of success or much more. To do anything less is to lock into marginal results and mountains of unhappiness and regret as we age.No matter where you may live and no matter what the conditions may be in your life, it is a sad reality that many… no, most! - people choose to hold onto the “safe” life, no matter how unfulfilled that life may be. They listen and respect the swarm of nay Sayers buzzing ab This question is highly debatable as there are many pros and cons for both a “yes” and a “no” answer. Even a “sometimes” can be given as a valid solution to this question. Personally, the default answer has to be “no” and depending on the situation determines if I will show my cards or not. As a rule you should never give away free information to the rest of the table. The only 2 sure things in life are death and taxes. The only 2 sure things in poker is your hand and the community cards. By flipping up your cards when you do not really need to, even if you have a monster, can give away indications as to how you play certain hands. There is a HUGE temptation to show your 72u when you make a bluff on the turn and you win the pot. This stems from the fact that you made such a huge bluff and your opponent fell for it, you want to show off your skills to the rest of the table. And why not? You want respect and praise from your peers for such a blinding bit of play. But alas, this type of behavior should be discouraged. OK, so well done you have bluffed this guy, but who is to say that one of the other players at the table wasn’t studying you for tells? If you show a bluff then the guy who’s been staring you down will know for sure that the tell information he holds on you is correct. There are some exceptions to this rule. If I am in a friendly game of poker, if I am in a home game, or even if I am in a relaxed mood and playing with others who are also there for “fun” not “business”, then I might show a few more hands than I would normally. If I’m playing against a complete rock, or a certified loony that concedes the pot to me, I might show my hand as long as it was good and tell them “good lay down”. This is more likely to happen if I have only been at the table for a very short time. The reason being you want to get other players psychologically ‘on your side’. If they made a good lay down early on against you, they will be more inclined to make further ‘good lay downs’ throughout the course of the game. Conversely, if they re-raise over the top of your bet, you can be pretty sure of where you stand. remember, IF you do show, only show your strong hands. Do not show middle pair or king-high. You are looking to set yourself a dangerous table image. Make sure you get remembered for you monsters. The only reason I would ever show someone a bluff is if they are verging on tilt. Nothing pushes players over the edge more than showing them up in front of the rest of the table. I know I said earlier on that this is not a good move to make, I feel it is worth it if you can force that player to go on tilt in order to make more money off their losing play. Look around your neighborhood; check out the school, university or club bulletin boards, the local paper and even the web for job postings. Many large supermarkets and factories also post their vacancies on boards as do local shops. Many employment agencies also offer part time and temporary jobs. Here are some tips to make a good impression:* Always have a resume ready. This was great as I was able to naturally play my strong hand but show everyone at the table that this is how I appear to play my bluffs too. This guaranteed me a bit of action next time I decided to play a premium hand. My opponent in the example above lost when his AJ fell against my KK. Ha-ha, sucker! There are not many places online where you can do this. PKR.com allow you to only show one card. If you know of any other online sites that do this, please let me know. Showing of cards is a big mistake, unless you can justify it by either 1 - putting someone on tilt, 2 - re-enforcing your table image. Even then, you should not be showing your cards very often.
