It is 9.30pm Tuesday 6th February and Zach is peacefully asleep. He is now seventeen months of age and is the life of the household. Oh yes, that family is still living under my roof and I just don't know what the future holds for them or for me for that matter.
On to happier circumstances about Zach short for Zachariah. With the usual single mother dramas concerning access and the like Zach goes missing for most of the weekend. It's those moments I really miss him - that light of my life. But on a hot Sunday afternoon recently we took him to the local community pool. He takes to the pool like a fish to water. You can't stop him. He jumps straight in without any fear, and it doesn't take him long to enjoy the junior waterslides either. He show no fear about being completely underwater. For most of his darling little life he has loved water, always showing off in the bathtub. He would do complete rolls in the tub and just laugh the whole time. He is an excitable little tiger. Well, just today the neighbour brought in a 2-3 day old baby bird and Zach totally cooed. The budgies were forgotten temporarily and this frightened little bird was the total centre of attention. He just loved it. We took it to the vet for their care and attention and will know what type of bird it is tomorrow. But it's healthy and I've been assured it will survive. The funniest event happened at the vets. Zach started chasing the resident large pussycat but it disappeared through the catdoor near the front counter. Baby Zach bent over and continuously peered through that door looking for that cat and finally gave his famous shrug about a disappearing pussycat. That really lit up my day.
