Get the sense immediately if they are tire kickers or brain pickers. If they are, cut the conversation short and direct them to your website. Even give them an assignment (for example, get me a copy of your credit report and I will look it over and get back to you). This way you can see if they are actually motivated because they now have to act and do something.

    The bottom line is that time is precious. Don’t let someone rob you of it. Also remember that you cannot talk to two people at the same time. When you are spending time with someone that is not going to make you any money, the person that may be willing to pay you is not getting through and may go to another source.
