CEO Pay VS Rank and File
Many complain that CEO make too much money, as the average is some 300% more than the rank and file. If the companies were doing well that is no problem, yet if the company is rolling in the profits it would make sense and the shareholders might agree that this is a good policy, as it is a reward for success. Unfortunately many poorly performing companies are still paying the CEO too much. The CEOs say it is very difficult to run a company in bankruptcy or which is losing money? Yet, if that is the defense then the reward comment for profitable companies makes no sense. After all if we pay for success we must take away for lack of success. So if a company goes Chapter 11, then the CEO ought to give all the mon

I look forward to a late afternoon workout, especially after sitting all-day and working on my computer. I tend to become myopic and need to spread out beyond the mirror to my left and the wall behind me. The smell of the damp leaves, the passing headlights of the cars as I attempt to cross the road, and the kindness of the post office worker all allows me to reconnect to the world. And as I focus on the leaves that have fallen on the trail in front of me, my mind begins to go into a semi-trance. Little by little, I think about the step ahead, one after another. This active mediation is when I get some of my best ideas. When I am not trying too hard. Creativity is like that. It needs the space to emerge.

As a speaker, I have wanted to come up with my own system. This is a way for speakers to become different, to go beyond the 'he's just another creativity speaker.' I have learned that when a speaker has a system, many more things are possible for my clients such as, gaining a fresh perspective, generating new ideas, sharpening the focus and creating more business. How To Write A Super Bowl Ad
Well, it's that time of year again. No, not the holidays. It's Super Bowl ad writing time. And all the big boys at all the fancy advertising agencies across the country are, as we speak, camping out at Starbucks and abandoning all thoughts of REM sleep, and disappointing spouses (yet again) in the unrealistic hopes of writing an ad that somehow makes it onto the Super Bowl. And they go through this pain and suffering because every one of them knows that writing a Super Bowl ad that gets produced and is shown during the game will change their lives forever. You can sleep in February. There are fewer days then anyway. This year, the NFL has decided to involve you and me, the fans, to writ

    Different Types Of Outdoor Signs
Before you plan your outdoor sign, it will do you a world of good to know what types of outdoor signs are available in the market. If you are armed with this market information, choosing an outdoor sign that goes with the aesthetics of your building architecture and is right for your business becomes an easy job:1. Portable, Changeable Signs: These are mostly ground signs and indoor signs. Your staff can easily lug these signs around and the lettering on them can be changed easily to display the latest offers. These signs are normally placed on the ground just outside your shop, but some varieties can also be placed indoors and some can be quite high-tech, too (for example, a scrolling LED indoor sign).

The Importance of a Marketing Plan
There aren’t many things in life that you would get into with out a plan. Marketing is no different. Your overall marketing plan should cover about a six month period, and should be made up of weekly and monthly marketing schedules. This is how you do it:1. Figure out how much money is in your budget. As we all know, marketing of any kind costs money. How much money you are willing to commit to the cause is going to determine some key factors about how that money can be best spent. Remember, you want to be economical but you also need to be realistic on what it will take to pull in the leads you need to close new and repeat business.2. Determine your target market.Who is most l

Job Security Is Dead! Are You?
Job security is an out dated concept. The idea is nice: The longer an employee works for a particular company, the more valuable that person becomes to the company in question. But the reality of the current job market is a different story. Every day in the U.S., employees are forced into early retirement, laid off, or fired as a result of corporate down-sizing, mergers, and re organizational bankruptcy. An employee was once valuable to the company because they graduated from college, got a degree, and/or had determination for hard labor. In the past, it was all right to become comfortable with your position. In today's society, being comfortable is the wrong thing to do and actually, it's a trap. This t
perspective, generating new ideas, sharpening the focus and creating more business. Sometime at the beginning of the year I stopped trying for my system. While I put the goal of developing a system into the 'Long Term Aspiration' section in my journal, I stopped trying to force a solution. It wasn't until late this summer that it happened, some 9 months later. Towards the end of the day after a speaking assignment, I searched the Internet for a local gymnasium and jogged over to the health club. It felt good to get my body moving and my mind out of a dark conference room with heavy drapes and only a wisp of outside light. Earlier in the day, I had put in my journal that I wanted to figure out how to increase the communication power of my customer.

According to one of my favorite books, "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill, he states, "The subconscious mind takes any orders given it in a spirit of absolute faith, and acts upon those orders, although the orders often have to be repeated over and over again. ... Be on alert for these plans, and when they appear, but them into action immediately." I had put the desire for a system into my journal and was jogging past an art gallery that had displays of photography when it h
