Nonprofit Fundraising - Place Donation Boxes in Your Community to Raise Funds and Awareness
You have probably seen donation boxes or jars near the cash registers at businesses in your community. These can be a great way to gain not only money and awareness for your cause, but also publicity for your organization. Your organization can make the donation containers or your can buy professionally made containers at a very reasonable price. The ideal container is a see-through one because potential donors will be able to see that money has already been donated and will be motivated to give their own spare change at the cash register. The donation container should have an opening that is small enough so that money cannot be removed and it should have a lock. You can

    Using Power Tools 101
The power tools of today are not the same as the ones that were carefully placed on the pegboard near your grandfather’s workbench- they are actually quite far from it. Modern technology has made amazing advances in the simplest of features, including automatic shut-off, enhanced guarding and more resilient materials just to name a few. But one trait has come to be worth its weight in gold within the power tool industry, and that’s the owner’s manual.Today’s manuals not only have better graphics showing its users what each part of the device should look like (and what to do when it doesn’t), many individual manufacturers will have explicit directions and instruct
Just this week I was invited to San Jose for two days to train and assess over 30 speakers at a conference of high-tech companies eager to hear what predictions these presenters had about the future of the industry.

My overarching assessment of the group of five who presented to the entire assembly: unlike any other organization I have worked with in the past ten years, these people ALL possessed the one ingredient that makes the whole presentation process work – passion. The truth is, you can almost break all the ‘rules’ about proper delivery if in the end you deliver your message with true passion, and the five main presenters all did exactly that.

Peek a Boo - We See YouDoes your company have a description for a full-time job that says "Stand in the booth and hand out brochures."?Doubt it."Working the booth" often falls to the person closest to the show site, or part of a sales team. So, staffing for trade shows might be haphazard, considered a reward for sales performance, or based on corporate marketing criteria. Then the question becomes how many people in a booth and what should they do? These are the basics the exhibit, sales and marketing managers should use for the most effective presence at each show.1. Allocate space for two staff for each 10' x 10' area. This

For Marketing-Minded Financial Planners, Small Publications Can Have Great Publicity Impact
Just because a publication is small doesn't mean that getting your name in it won't have great impact.Trade on the reputation of the tradesSome of the trade publications have very loyal audiences who are much more likely to trust someone they see there than someone on the local news or in The Wall Street Journal. Generating Publicity: Will The Media Be Interested In My Product/Business?
When it comes to launching a new business or product, some marketing consultants might say that EVERY product is appropriate for a publicity or media exposure campaign. That is true to a degree, but as a PR/publicity professional and former media person, I would qualify that statement by saying that although new products would benefit from a solid publicity campaign, not all businesses or products and their pitches will grab the attention of the media.A number of strategically generated features or product mentions in magazines, newspapers and TV/radio/cable shows nationwide can lend strong credibility to a new product. That “media bullhorn” can also do wonders to
s fond of saying (speaking about the audience), “They won’t care how much you know until they know how much you care”. In the high-tech business, there are many people who know a great deal. But their knowledge matters very little if they can’t convey what they know with a level of passion that drives people to sit up and listen.

After all, it’s not likely that anybody in the audience is going to care more about your topic than you do, so to ensure that audiences come away interested and motivated to learn more, it’s incumbent upon the speaker to stretch to the point of almost going over the top with passion and enthusiasm for their topic.
