    Entrepreneurship? Train The Teachers First
How do we train our people to become entrepreneurs? How do we instill entrepreneurship into our future generation? My answer is... seriously... Train the Teachers first!See, the teachers are the moulders of our future generation. Every day, students attend schools and consciously as well as subconsciously gain knowledge. And every day, school teachers are sharing their experience, their knowledge, their habits directly or indirectly to students. Cheers to Teachers! However, this means that teachers need to be equipped with the best mindset, best knowledge and best experience so that they can in turn impart them to the young. In my opinion, entrepreneurship programmes should be catered to our teachers. And it should not just stop at this. We should encourage our teachers to take risks and allow them to engage in side businesses as well as other entrepreneurship projects. At present, teachers are not allowed to moonlight, except for tuition assignments. With additional freedom, we could groom teachers to become entrepreneurs, not by theory but in practicality. If we loosen the grip on this m

What is it, you might ask, that allows certain business, non-profit, government agency or association managers to believe that they run a high-quality public relations operation?

In my judgement, they can believe that only if:

    1) They operate a strategic PR plan that leads directly to achieving their unit’s managerial objectives.

    2) They do something really significant about those important outside audience behaviors that MOST affect the department, group, division or subsidiary unit they manage.

    3) They take advantage of the perception levels they’ve achieved as those key external audiences become persuaded to the manager’s way of thinking.

    4) And once having persuaded many members of that key external audience to their views on the issue in question, watch that perception closely as it usually morphs into behavioral actions that allow their unit to succeed.

But few managers achieve this level without earlier exposure to the tactical approach to public relations. An approach that pretty much uses a collection of communications tactics to move a message from one point to another. And that’s fine if the manager’s only objective is to create print and broadcast exposure

Respect - The Key to Delegation
Delegation is based on respect. You need to respect the person to whom you delegate. They, in turn, will not want to do the tasks, unless they respect you.The best way to delegate is in person. Giving someone a task face-to-face is ideal because you can get a sense of the person you are dealing with. You can tell if someone is happy to do a task for you, or if they are actually resentful. Establishing the bounds of your delegating relationship is important. When you ask someone to do a job in person, it is best to do it two ways: orally, and in writing. This way you both know what has been said and the expectations are clear from the outset. Make sure that you both know the what, when, why, and how of the situation. One reason to avoid asking people in email or on the phone is that it feels impersonal. You are asking a favour, and it behooves you to be polite and take the other person’s reaction into account. You will be unable to gauge their reaction if you are not in person. If you must delegate over the phone or via email, however, be sure that you do it politely. Get f

Driving New Cars For Free: Is There A Catch?
Advertisers have seized upon a new way to get the word out about their products: slap their ads on your vehicle. Actually, this isn’t an entirely new way to promote products as it has been in the experimental stages for years in limited markets. Now, however, the practice has become so widespread that companies around the globe are doing it. Soon, many cars in Mexico and France along with vehicles on the streets of California, Florida, and elsewhere will be sporting ads pitching a variety of products. In some cases the advertisers will pay you a monthly rental fee to place ads on the car you already own, while in other cases you could find yourself behind the wheel of a brand new car. When I first heard about this concept, I thought: what’s the catch? While every program is different and there are probably scammers mixed in with the legit companies, for the most part these “ads on wheels” or “rolling billboard” programs are on the up and up. You’ll have to check with the individual program for contractual details, but this is what I have found out about what some of them are offering:Drivers must be o

    Why PR?
Public relations and advertising are both great ways to reach key audiences. However, I think PR should be the foundation upon which all other marketing communications tactics are built. Now, it is true that you have more control over your initial advertising message than you do over your public relations generated messages. You pay for that luxury and that is the problem.Your audience knows that you paid for the message delivery and immediately discounts it because it is from you. Also, your advertising message has a very limited shelf-life, although that is changing. With the advent of sites like YouTube TV ads can be archived forever.Enter PR. You lose some control over the message once you set it free, but the message has legs.People are more likely to believe a PR message because there is an implied third-party endorsement. It is not perceived to be self-serving, or at least not as self-serving as an ad.Additionally, PR messages have a long shelf life. Once PR messages make their way into the news conduit, you can see them pop up in other stories for years.

However, problems arise when it becomes obvious that counterproductive behaviors by target audiences are the direct result of negative perceptions about the organization or its services, products or personnel.

Suddenly, it is clear why steps must be taken to monitor opinion among members of your most important outside audiences to (1) determine how they perceive your organization; (2) to further evaluate those survey results in order to identify and prioritize public relations goals; (3) to create and share corrective messages with key outside audiences and, finally, (4) to carefully monitor how and when those perceptions inevitably become the key audience behaviors you know you need as the manager in charge of your unit.
