Choosing a Credit Counseling Company o hike down proved worth the trek! As we drove on the highway looking for our first stop on the Golden Circle tour, we suddenly came upon a little car park opening on the side of the road and what looked like a little hill in a very flat barren landscape. If you have considered credit counseling as an option to your financial problems, then you are probably wondering how to choose from one of the many credit counseling companies that are popping up left and right these days. There really is not an easy answer to this dilemma but there are some things that you can look for in a credit counseling company that might make the decision a little easier. One factor to consider is whether it’s going to cost you anything to pursue credit counseling. If you are having financial difficulties in the first place, then chances are that you don’t really have the expendable cash to pay for the credit counseling you so desperately need. In this instance, rest assured that there are reputable, non-profit, credit counseling companies that will assist you for free. On the other hand, if you are of the philosophy that you get what you pay for, then you may want to consider a fee based credit counseling company.Your best bet, when deciding which credit counseling company to turn to in your time of need, is to find one that will provide you with a custom fit. Every situation, requiring credit counse Upon suggesting a quick stop, we peaked over the hill to find the remains of a volcanic crater! As history goes, this island was named Iceland to drive people away from settling there and send them to Greenland instead, which was named incorrectly in the hope to attract people to settle there. Iceland is one of Europe’s most sparsely populated nations and the last country to be inhabited. Most of the land is barren, rural and uninhabitable. The culture, language and people are mostly influenced by the Scandinavian countries with a combination of Celtic appearances. I was prepared for a relatively small town feel during our stay at Reykjavik and mostly countryside tourism and hiking, but was extremely taken aback to find how isolated, barren, unique, exotic and how extremely beautiful this place actually is!A leader’s roleIn any change project, a leader must wear many hats, however his/her role can be split into two key areas:1. Set the strategic direction of the change and;2. Convince everyone of its importance. The importance of the first part of this role is generally understood and is for another article on another day, however the second part is often overlooked (or done very badly) and can be of even greater importance.Where this point is addressed, it is generally done by giving presentations and distributing memos. Although these can be necessary, they are often ignored or just paid lip service if the most important method of communicating the importance of the project is missed – action.“Do as I say, not as I do!”Many of us will have heard this line from our parents (some of us just might have been known to use it with our own kids now and again), but can we remember how patronising it felt?Too often this is the message communicated to employees from senior management during a major change. Employees are expected to attend seminars and workshops (and are sent memos and From black sand beaches to white ice caps, glaciers to volcanoes, hot spring baths to exploding sulphur geysers, from cliffs to dual folding waterfalls, from dog sledging to whale watching, white water rafting to mountain hiking, the possibilities are not only endless, but fascinating!!! For miles and miles that we drove, (in the little rental car I like to refer to as ‘Herbie’), constantly cursing Avis for not providing us the 4 wheel drive. There are only one or two major highways in Iceland that run for several hundred kilometers in a direction. Depending on how adventurous you want your trip to be and which destination you are heading to, your deviation from the main road will get you to a dirt road amidst a national park or a glacial mountain climb. These roads can get rough for a small rental car, and rather than taking a risk with a flat tire or being trapped on the side of a mountain with not a soul in sight, no cell phone service, nobody to come rescue you, and a car stuck in a pothole, I strongly suggest renting an SUV. Also, there are no lights on the highways so for the sake of safety, plan your time accordingly so you can make your way back to a major town before sunset. You probably know that Abner Doubleday invented the game of baseball, but you may not know that New Yorker, Alexander Cartwright designed the configuration and dimensions of the baseball field during the 1840s. His New York Knickerbocker Base Ball Club, developed the first set of league rules. The first historical record of a league baseball game was the 1846 Knickerbocker duel with the New York Baseball Club (the Knickerbockers LOST at Elysian Fields, in Hoboken, New Jersey. For those who subscribe to satellite television, there is nothing more beautiful than the big, black, magical box in the corner of their living room that brings an imaginary world into their home. Those that subscribe to the Dish Network claim that it’s better than DirecTV. Those who subscribe to DirecTV have less than favorable opinions about the Dish. So what exactly is the verdict? Which satellite has the better deal, Dish Network or DirecTV? Basically, it depends on what you’re looking for in your personal, at-home television experience.Let’s start off with sports channels. There’s a vast array of sports programming available to both DirecTV and Dish Network subscribers, but the options vary between the two satellites. For example, DirecTV offers the highly sought after NFL Sunday Ticket, in which this programmer offers viewing of every single professional football game played, no matter the region of the US in which the subscriber resides. Both satellite subscribers offer NHL Center Ice for hockey fans and NBA League Pass for lovers of basketball. The GA’s job, in exchange for a cut of your commissions, was to give you products, a selling system, motivation, and free insurance leads.Today the model is different. You get your license and automatically become a general agent earning full street-level commissions. You then partner with an insurance marketing organization for product representation, selling systems, and (the number one reason agents choose a particular marketing organization) free insurance leads. But if a handful of free insurance leads is all your new partner has to offer, how much are they really costing you?If you are a career conscious agent, you will look beyond the immediate gratification and false hopes of free insurance leads. You will understand the gimmick of a prize inside the Cracker Jack box. You will focus on the greater need for effective, ongoing prospecting systems, progressive selling systems, motivational and educational coaching, and cutting-edge products, long after your fr Upon suggesting a quick stop, we peaked over the hill to find the remains of a volcanic crater! We decided to walk down to the water from one of the slopes which had a hiking trail built in. It was definitely a lunch earning trek but the peaceful and clear water with the blue sky above was worthwhile! Then we followed the path to the Golden Circle tour, which includes Strokkur geyser, Gullfoss waterfall and Thingviller Viking village. The tour itself takes a good part of one entire day, and the horizon reflects the barren dark ground kissing the blue skies, with a slight layer of iced cap glaciers on occasion - The most breathtaking sight! Driving along Route 1 that seemed to just continue on dry barren land, with an occasional horse grazing or a sheep running across the road, I was convinced we were lost until we come upon a ridge with a ravine and out of absolutely nowhere, the highway brings you upon the most fabulous ravine with a dual folding waterfall! The dual folding waterfall basically was a waterfall with not one, but two steep layers of folding water, coming down a cliff with such force that the two layers of water falling from different angles met in the middle causing a gushing flow of very rapid water causing a rising mist before falling again down a steep cliff into a little ravine several feet below. Travel to Iceland is a lot cheaper and a lot closer than most people imagine it to be. Icelandair (the only airline servicing Reykjavik to most big cities in the US and Europe) offers one flight a day from New York, San Francisco, Boston, Washington DC, London, and all major western European cities. Flight time from NY and London being approximately 4-5 hours, Reykjavik has become a popular destination for young people for a long weekend and to live up the ‘Reykjavik style party scene’. Several years ago, Icelandair launched a series of provocative promotional campaigns, which initially began to raise awareness and travel to this far far away land to younger folks looking to have a good time. The marketing for Iceland boasted statements like ‘One-night stand in Iceland’ reads as inviting Americans and Europeans to stop over for a night on trans-Atlantic flights. Last year American TV show The Sopranos featured prostitutes dressed, barely, in “Icelandic Airline” uniforms, partying in a New York hotel room. The show was called “Money for nothing and Icelandic Chicks for free.” These campaigns landed Icelandair in a series of court cases and law suits, and a furious staff supported by the Feminist Association of Iceland, but it worked in b
