    Offer Excellent Customer Service
Excellent customer service is imperative in the marketplace today. As a home based business owner you should know the importance of getting and keeping a happy customer. It is the life blood of every business. Many business owners work so hard to get the customer and then blow it by not offering first class service.Small businesses can quite often offer better customer service then most big companies for many reasons. Usually it is easier to add personal touches, keep overhead low, have quicker response time and enhance the customer's experience from start to finish. Each customer's purchase can be seen almost immediately on the books

So what’s the big deal, what can you do with an article? I’ll mention a few here, be creative and don’t limit yourself!

Five Keys to Unlocking Your Golden Shackles
After years of success, you may find that your current job is not as satisfying as it once was. Usually, this realization doesn't come overnight. Like termites gnawing a piece of timber, the process may take months for you to notice.Maybe you now know, after what seems to have been an eternity of effort, that you will no longer be CEO of your organization. But instead of seeing the writing on the wall and deciding to make a change, you decide to stay inside your comfort zone rather than succumbing to the voices of discontent within you.Consider my two neighbors. One had been a successful insurance salesman, but his
All the experts kept saying it was a great way to give value, gain free publicity, and position yourself as an expert. It was something I had planned to do for years and I finally did it for the first time in May, 2005 and I’ve been doing it ever since. What is it? Writing articles. Don’t be like me and wait, get started today!

OK, I can hear the moans of protest from here, so let me explain what writing articles can mean for your business and perhaps you will be willing to give it a shot? For those of you who love to write this is your big chance to get started or to write even more.

You don’t need to have a weekly or monthly newsletter in order to consistently write articles although this is a good way to make sure that you produce at least one article per month (it sure keeps me on schedule).

Pick a topic you are passionate about, one that allows you to provide insightful information that will help your clients, and start writing. An average length for an article is 500-800 words. Once you have completed your article ask a friend or colleague to review it for you and give you feedback. If you’re going to take the time to writing something, make sure it’s the best it can be!

There isn’t room in this article to go into all of the details of how to write, there are plenty of resources out there if you need help in this area. The point is that you, as the owner of your business, know a lot about the problems your clients face and how you can help solve them. You have valuable information that people want and need, so why not give it to them? Writing is like any other skill, it takes practice and over time you will improve and find your own unique voice.

Yellow Pages Advertising in a Digital Age?
Do customers still use PRINT Yellow Page directories, or has everything gone digital? Well, physicians, auto repair shops, attorneys, dentists, plumbers, insurance agencies, veterinarians and florists... Just these 8 (out of 300) categories alone were referenced nearly 3 BILLION times in 2005. Now consider that “online Yellow Pages” were referenced a measly 1.8 billion times for ALL BUSINESS CATEGORIES, and you can see that print Yellow Page directories are still one of the very best ways to reach valuable local prospects at the very time they’re in need of your product or service. In fact, certain companies l

Why Should You - Why Should Anyone Take Action?
Why Should You Take Action? Why be successful?...Why be anything? For some reason, I feel struck by the importance asking difficult questions. In my experience, it's the answers to these types of questions that make or break a person. Some questions are naturally much more simple and straight forward than others. Why start a business? Why set goals for yourself? Etc.The answers to these questions are pretty simple really. You could easily have someone else answer them for you. But, when you think about taking action, being successful, making sacrifices, or more precisly what it means to be the type of perso

Long Forgotten? Stir Old Accounts Back to Life
An award-winning contractor in Savannah, Georgia (who also happens to be my award-winning brother) wrote:‘In my business (home construction and remodeling), I have many accounts with different suppliers supporting the construction industry. Sometimes I use their services and then will not see them again for 8 to 12 months or whenever my next project requires. When I do return to order new supplies, some companies have let my account “run out”, and I have to apply for a new account with them all over again.‘I ask why they don’t send a card letting me know that my account has become dormant, and is about to be closed? The Courage to Succeed
What do you think is the most important quality of successful people? Is it intelligence or perseverance? Could it be charisma or diligence? What if I told you that the most important quality of any successful person is courage?Statistically, the greatest barrier to success in any part of our lives is fear. Fear of many things. Fear of failure. Fear of experiencing something new. Fear of reaching out. Fear of success itself.Do you let fear take you out of the game? Have you ever had an opportunity to do something that you turned down for some reason? What was your reason? Was it a legitimate reason or a fear based reason? Here’

    1. When you meet people who fit your ideal client profile offer to send them an article. No sale, no pitch, just sharing something that will support them.

    2. Offer your articles to strategic alliance partners for them to give to their clients.

    3. Place your articles on your own website so visitors can see the value you offer.

    4. Once you have several articles you can package them together and voila, an instant e-book you can give away or sell.

    5. Finally, a highly leveraged action to take is to place your articles on the internet where publishers go to find content for their publications. This is really simple and it will cost you nothing.

There are different places to submit your articles on the internet depending on your focus and content. Here are just some of the websites where I place my articles: ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com, articlecity.com, amazines.com, marketing-seek.com, ideamarketers.com, articlefinders.com, and businessknowhow.com.

To find places where can publish your articles, go to google.com and type in the keywords ‘article submission.’ You can also go to http://www.ezau.com/latest/articles/0253.shtml for a list of article submission websites.

Be sure to include a brief ‘author bio’ with each article you write and publish (see mine at the end of this article). This way, when people read your article they know how to connect with you in case they want to know more. Include a “call to action” in your author bio that invites the reader to take an action like: sign up for your newsletter, get a free report, or receive a sample of your product or service.

Because you can allow your article to be re-published without permission you may not actually know how much exposure you have recei
