It seems counter-intuitive, but it has the strange effect of almost confusing your brain: "Hey, wait a minute, you're supposed to be nervous right now! Why do you want me to feel even MORE nervous?!"

    - I'm sure you've heard this before, but concentrating on breathing after you've mastered the ability of feeling even more nervous can be quite calming. The proper way to breathe is to put your hand on your stomach and feel it rise and lower as your breathe. This pulls oxygen deeper into your lungs.

    - There is some evidence that magnesium depletion may increase sensitivity to anxiety and nervousness. Taking a magnesium supplement may help to lower frequency and severity of attacks.
