Before enrolling in any massage course, be sure to ask about credentials; any good massage school should be very willing to discuss the accreditation of their school and/or program of study. (Accreditation is gained from professional organizations that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Schools everywhere, including Pennsylvania massage therapy schools, can become accredited by requesting an evaluation and accreditation by various organizations.) You should only consider schools that are accredited, as certification from non-accredited schools is not valued as highly as that from accredited schools. This will be especially important when seeking employment.
