Most Jobs Positions are Filled From Within
Most jobs are filled from within business or non business organizations from within. Often senior employees are encouraged and indeed rewarded for recommending future good employees to their place of work. This is both a good and wise practice which results in good hires, better workplaces and indeed greater work and employee and employer satisfaction and effectiveness and profitability.Networking no matter what is the number source of finding good and bett

    1 Secret Lesson In Delegation
When we first began franchising our company we believed that the franchisees should be able to call up the founder anytime they wanted to ask a question. We know this would not last forever, in fact we figured until about 120 franchisees or so. We later learned 70 is about all any one person can handle and I beat my head against the wall micro-managing all aspects of the company. It seemed at the time relevant, as I had built the company and knew every single aspec
Many business people and managers are spending too much time trying to change the underperforming people who work for them. They seem to believe that if they train people - tell them what to do or even threaten them with the sack - then the performance level will go up.

The successful manager concentrates on developing the strengths of his team members - not trying to correct their weaknesses. Sometimes you have to manage around a weakness, but you can't make people what they're not.

Some years ago I decided to improve my golf by taking some lessons. A friend and I spent some hours with a professional golfer and coach at a local country club. This was really useful to me and I did get better. However my friend Robin hadn't a clue. No matter what the pro told him to do, how to change his stance and his grip, he could hardly hit the ball.

If you'd given Robin a hundred lessons and threatened him with a gun, I doubt if he'd ever have completed a round of golf in less than two days. Robin is a successful lawyer and makes a lot of money, however a golfer - he is not.

How To Get An LGV Job
There is no shortage of Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) driving jobs for those who really enjoy driving for long periods of time. This type of job is perfect for those who like to travel. Those who desire to become an LGV driver will need to go through a process in order to become one. First, they would train for a Category C license and gain experience driving rigid trucks. Then, they would get training for the Category C+E license so they can drive other types of

The Most Important Role Of The Manager
How often have you heard a manager complain that communication is not effective because no one seems to be taking any notice of the memos or directives? Well, we are always tempted to believe that there is ineffective communication within some organisations but replace one of the usual memos with one saying that each person has won a million dollars and then sit back and look at just how effective that communication is!The usual manner of communicating is no

What Every Borrower Wants to Know
There are a few things that you will want to consistently communicate to every borrower no matter who they are or how much they know about the loan process. Keeping your borrower informed about the things that matter most to them will help build their trust in your ability as a mortgage professional. The more they trust you, the less frustration they’ll experience along the way. Here are a few answers you’ll always want to provide:1. What’s it gonna cost me?

    Historical Economic Indicators in 2002
If we look at trucking in August 2000 we see it was up even as diesel prices were rising, nice steady 3-4% quarterly gains, before the drop out. There were lots of mergers in trucking, which continued all through the 2001 and into this 2002 year. Rail was a roller coaster between 1998 and 1999 with 2000 showing great confidence in the mergers of the few years past. Air freight was up to. And there was plenty of water although the 2001 forecast back then was dis

So if you have a sales person on your team who isn't bringing in the sales or a production engineer who isn't making his quota, then you have to make a decision. Is this person not producing because they don't have the ability - because they need more training or - because there's another reason?

You can read more about coaching and other reasons for non performance in my book - "How to get more Sales by Motivating your Team" but for the moment it's important to understand that the individual may not be able to do the job.

They may tell you they can do the job because they're unwilling to accept defeat; however I've known people in sales jobs who shouldn't be in sales and doctors, plumbers, lawyers and engineers who were also in the wrong job.

What you need to do is get people who can't do the job into a job that they can do or get them out of your t
