    What Is Your Value?
Last Thursday I turned the subject of the article “The Medium vs. the Message” into a 20-minute speech, which I delivered to one of my Toastmasters clubs. At the beginning of the speech, I had everyone in the audience create a fake business card with their name and their current career listed on it. Then at the end of the speech, I had them do it again, and of course the results were different because people were thinking differently about their careers. It’s easy to fall into the trap of seeing our jobs as a container within which we work. Maybe you think to yourself, “I’m an employee of company X.” But seeing your job as something contained within you is far more empowering. So instead you think, “Company X is one of my outlets for self-expression.” Instead of you holding a position with a company, you see that company as holding a position within you. It’s as if you’ve hired the company as you would a contractor to perform a service for you, and the service they provide is one of helping you express your value to others. Why is it that top professional speakers get paid over $10,000 for a 45-minute keynote (and this doesn’t even include product sales)? How is it these speakers are able to charge so much? Partly the reason is that those top speakers understand the value they provide. Their value lies in their ability to change the way people think in a very short period of time, sometimes permanently. I’ve attended many presentations where the speaker was able to permanently change my thinking in less

Car Wash Fundraisers on Sunday instead of Saturday; Does It Make Sense?
Most people know that a Sunny Saturday is the best day of the week to have a car wash fundraiser. But what if you cannot have a car wash fundraiser on a Saturday? What if the business location you have available is too busy on Fridays and Saturdays, but it can be used on Sunday? What if this location is a very busy location? Could a car wash be done on a Sunday instead asks a group of Professional Models raising money for a cause?Well, personally I have done many car wash fundraisers on Sundays and it can work although not as well. Why you ask? It is because most carwashes are busy on Fridays and Saturdays and a lot of people wash their own cars for the weekend. Therefore, so many people who actually DO wash their cars (I mean just look as some of those dirt bombs out there would you?) already have them cleaned and this eliminates some of your potential traffic of course. Now then, seeing as the place is hopping on Fri and Sat days and nights this can help you alert people to come on Sunday to the car wash too by handing them flyers and letting the business also help with pre-car wash publicity. I discuss this as well in my free book on this How to Run a Successful Car Wash Fundraiser:http://www.carwashguys.com/fundraisers/LAschools.htmlAlso it might be wise to think selling pre-sale tickets, as this could be a great idea actually, due to the fact that a few models may be selling the tickets and they can of
I want to tell you a little story that could make a wonderful difference in your life. You may already know about everything I'm going to tell you. If you do, you're a remarkable person, and according to the latest statistics you belong to the top 5% of all the working people in the world. You're to be congratulated. If you don't know about the things I'm going to say, you've been holding yourself back, not only on the job but you're also missing a big percentage of the greatest joy in life. I want to talk about your boss and your relationship with him. How you handle this relationship will determine your success or failure. It will determine how much money you make or do not make, and it will determine whether you're a happy person or an unhappy person.

So let's talk about you and your boss. Who is your boss? You have only one and every working person, from the president of the largest corporation to the shoeshine boy, has the same boss. He is simply the customer. There never has been, there is not now, and there never will be any boss but the customer. He is the one boss you must please. Everything you own he has paid for. He buys your home, your cars, your clothes. He pays for your vacations and puts your children through school. He pays your doctor bills and writes every paycheck you will ever receive. He will give you every promotion you will ever obtain during your lifetime, and he will discharge you if you displease him.

Sometimes, particularly these days of seemingly complex economics and big business, we lose sight of just what business is. It all started back during the most primitive times. A man, in order to fend for himself and his family, had to provide his own food and his own shelter. He had to do his own fighting and fashion his own rough clothes and crude weapons for hunting and materials for fishing. Later he had to manufacture his own farming implements. In short, each person had to personally take care of every department of his or her life.

Naturally it came about that men and women with certain talents appeared. One person was particularly adept at fashioning spears, another at fishing, another at hunting, another at making garments, and so on. It was only natural that soon these individuals found that they could best spend most of their time in the pursuit of that at which they were most talented and trade their production for the production of others.

As a result, the person who made spears found that others would give him a share of their food, clothing, and so on, if he'd provide them with spears. Thus, trade and commerce began. It's far more complex today but still based on the same principle. A person's money is the resu

    Preprinted Bar Code Labels
Bar code labels that are manufactured by companies and are retailed to other establishments are called preprinted bar code labels. Preprinted bar code labels are bought and used by establishments that do not have infrastructure to make their own.Preprinted bar code labels are encoded using computers and sequentially numbered by the companies that manufacture them. These labels are designed on special vinyl stickers with adhesives that make them durable for a longer time. They can be designed in both line and dot formats.Sellers of preprinted bar code labels use three main techniques to manufacture labels – film master/printing plate, ion deposition and photocomposition. The first method is like normal printing techniques, where a template of the bar code is prepared and then printed in bulk amounts. Ion deposition technique uses electrolytic deposition of particles on a moving insulating drum to give the impression of the bar code. Photocomposition uses computers to design original bar codes. Out of all the techniques used to manufacture bar code labels, photocomposition is the best and is preferred if the bar code is needed to be exceedingly sharp and easy to scan. In fact, preprinted bar code label manufacturers only use photocomposition.Establishments who do not have the equipment or expertise to make their own bar code labels buy preprinted bar code labels. Making bar code labels requires money and a technically skilled staff. Hence, companies may evaluate their cost constraints and purchase

Top Ten Networking Strategies To Get A Job, A Promotion, Or Make A Sale
Whether you are networking to find a new job opportunity, gain a promotion, or close a sale, you have two main goals with the networking interaction:1. To be remembered so that when opportunities appear, people will think of you as the perfect person to handle things,2. To be referred to others who can give you insight into these opportunities.Your overall goal of course is to get a job, make a sale, or gain more business -– but it is these two steps that lead really effective net workers to the jobs, careers, and opportunities they want. What effective net workers understand is that they don’t need to ask for anything except advice and it is this advice they use to be remembered and to be referred.Following are ten tips on how to best accomplish these two goals.1. Act as a “resource person” and not as a “job, promotion, or sale beggar.” This means show the other person what benefits you or your product or service bring to the table. Be careful not to create a first impression that you are begging for the job or sale.2. Enhance your self-confidence. Do this by learning as much as you can about you, your products, and your services. In addition, learn as much as you can about the people from whom you are seeking advice. Preparation is the key to confidence.3. Make sure to meet with the right people, in the right place, at the right time.4. Remember you are looking for advice and information not a job or sale. It is the information you collect that will le

Tips for Recruiting and Jobseeking Online
    1. Keep your advertisements and their job titles clear, precise and simple. 'Business speak' is not always recognisable by the search engines and although non English speakers may speak fluent English, they may not understand much modern 'biz jargon'2. Don't leave your jobs on long after they have been filled or have expired. There is nothing more irritating for a good jobseeker to find that the job, for which they have applied, no longer exists. In the early days of online recruitment many online recruitment sites would 'steal' jobs from other sites to pad their numbers. This has to be so irritating all round. For example Jobseeker finds great job on a site, contacts advertiser, recruiter puzzled and then recognises a job he had a year ago.3. Don't ask for lengthy online applications. You should be able to judge from the CV, if the applicant fits the bill, keep the application simple and concise.4. Make sure that the Jobseeker knows how to contact you, by giving a direct email address or phone number.5. Jobseekers by the same token, should keep their CV's clear and simple, do not make them into a rambling essay.6. When using an online recruitment site for the first time, make sure you understand the site clearly and what it can do for you.7. Ask about the Job Board's statistics, where they show in the search engines and what they are doing to market their site? Measure your own response and compare it against other avenues of the recruitment processWith thanks to Onl

How to Find a Real Wholesale Supplier Today
With all the rubbish running on the internet, with all cons sitting behind their computers just waiting for another bait to arrive, finding a good a wholesale supplier nowadays is like looking for a needle in a haystack. And the big problem when you finally get a hold of some links to wholesale websites is that most of the time, those links are probably broken, or selling old products that nobody wants anymore. You see, what happens most of the time when you’re looking for wholesale suppliers on the internet, is that you’ll probably land on a web page selling you some information on a wholesale “list”.But in reality, the only thing you get from a wholesale “list” is a bunch of links. Oh, and in case you were wondering how wholesale lists are made, here is an example:First the creator finds a web directory, let’s say a toy directory. What he does next is copy some links from the directory and sell them to you. That is how easy it is to make a wholesale list. The one thing the wholesale list creator never includes in the wholesale list is where he got his information from in the first place. The creator chooses to keep that part a secret, therefore the info he’s actually selling isn’t worth much more than dust.Plus, traditional wholesale lists include information on only one kind of product: if you buy a shoe wholesale list, you will only get links to shoe suppliers, if you buy an electronics list, you will only get links to the electronics wholesalers etc. What’s wro

As a result, the person who made spears found that others would give him a share of their food, clothing, and so on, if he'd provide them with spears. Thus, trade and commerce began. It's far more complex today but still based on the same principle. A person's money is the result of his production, and he trades it for things he needs and wants. And it's here that logical discrimination comes into the picture.

Since his money is the result of his work, it's left to his discretion as to where he spends it. It is here that he assumes the role of boss. He will spend his money only with those whom he feels have earned it. And this is as it should be. You and I are exactly the same way. If someone treats you badly in any way, you instinctively feel that he has not earned your business and you will withhold it from him.

Over a period of time this amounts to a really substantial penalty. Let's say a family spends $100 a week for food, and because they've been mistreated or even get the feeling they're not appreciated or liked, they stop doing business at one store and take their business to another one. That's a penalty to one store of $5,200 a year and an increase of that amount at another store. In 10 years it amounts to $52,000. This amount of money can be lost by not realizing who the boss really is. The same thing applies to our clothes, drug items, hardware, cleaning, gasoline, automobiles, everything we purchase.

The average family earns more than $42,000 a year. This money pays your salary and mine if we earn it. And our prosperity as individuals hinges directly on our attitude toward what we do for a living. The man who works on an automotive assembly line might not think much about the car at the point of sale, nor about the family who will eventually buy and travel in that car. But that family pays his salary, and they will withhold the purchase of the car on which he works if it does not earn their respect and admiration.

If you doubt this even for a moment, think of the cars that once were popular and that can no longer be seen on the road. This applies to all products. Having earned a successful place in the economy should not be confused with keeping it. It must be earned every day, year in, year out. There's not a single company that could not go out of business. Everything depends on how the boss is treated, the boss being the customer. And yet the customer is eminently fair, j
