    This is the education administrator who gives speeches about the joy of teaching but avoids classrooms; the one who loves tudents but hasn't tutored or substitute taught in years and who never will in the future.

    This form of burnout serves two purposes.

    First, it allows the person to go on working. Secondly, it insulates them from something they never want to do again but no one will ever know. It is the perfect escape.
