The following article discusses how to really keep track of a good database, how to systematize or automate a database marketing campaign and how to get a good prospect or mailing list. For small businesses, a database can be the most important marketing tool. It doesn’t matter if contacts are kept in Outlook, ACT, Goldmine, QuickBooks, Excel or another program; what matters most is that it is kept up to date, new contacts added often, it

With the prices of real estate and housing soaring high, your sweet home is no more a structure of bricks and steel but is also a means to generate cash when you fall in the need of money. A home is a high value investment which a person makes. So, naturally there is lot of money tied up which can be released if the owner wishes to. One of the most common complaints I hear about the dating scene- next to misleading on-line photos- is the ridiculous costs of going out. Here in San Diego, courting soir?es could come at $150-$200 an outing. But that’s just because bachelors and bachelorettes lapse into mundane and expensive dating standbys instead of venturing into the offbeat and free venues located right in their own community.

Not only are dating clich?s like “diner and a movie” nauseatingly BOR-RING, they really don’t give you a chance to get to know your date. Not to mention, if you don’t ever want to see your date again, you’re going to totally think that you wasted your cash on the typical dating miscellany.

So, to skip these dating pitfalls and bank-breakers, take advantage of the cheap and exciting dating options available in your own neighborhood.

    1. Go to a free, local hands-on class

When was the last time you made a ceramic salad bowl or practiced jujitsu on your first date? Community centers and colleges often offer free classes to the public. Scan your local community papers in the “Classes” section and you’re likely to find at least one or two offbeat, but hands-on classes that would make for a fun first date. I’ve seen free classes on topics like meditation, modern California cooking, Polynesian dancing and Reiki. Pick a class and call it an “edu-date”.

    2. Go to a local art or entertainment show

If in 2007, you can say, “I’m not into art”, I’m afraid you’ve yet to realize how the art world has mushroomed into a sphere of all-encompassing creativity in the past decades. Nowadays, “art” does not mean purely paintings or sculptures. Art shows could involve a troupe using their body to re-interpret the migration of Monarchs. Critiquing Fiction - Or How to Help Without Being Mean
You have let a good friend read your latest story. They return it with nothing but good things to say. Does this mean your work is ready for an editor to read?Probably not.Although praise and sentiment are very worthwhile, they are not what a writer needs most when trying to "polish" their work to perfection. What a writer needs is a good critique of their writing. If you want to be helpful to a writer think about the following parts to a story while you are reading. What did you think of the stor

Fundraising Cookies - A Yummy Way to Raise Money
Most non profit organizations provide the communities where they serve with valuable programs that the communities would not otherwise have. Often, families and individuals that are not able to afford their basic needs are the beneficiaries of these services. It is necessary for the non-profit organization to adopt a very aggressive fundraising program in order to raise the money that is needed to maintain the level of service that they want to provide to their community. Some of the many fundraising options may

Harnessing the Subconscious - Remembering Dreams for Use in Fiction
Dreams are great fodder for fiction. We are most creative in our unconscious mind, uninhibited by self-control or doubt. The inner critic has less power there.Whether you find meaning from dreams, or simply use them as story ideas, there are ways to remember them more clearly.Dream CatchingBefore going to bed, plan to remember your dream. Keep a pen and paper or tape recorder beside your bed. Simply telling yourself, "I will remember my dreams in the morning" actually increases your chance of

A Sane, Satisfying Working Life: How You Lost It And How To Get It Back
Corporate ‘life’ is a nasty oxymoron.Jam-packed days, endless demands to do more with less, impossible goals, rally the troops, jump on a plane. Miss your kid’s birthday. You know these painful facts all too well. An existence? Yes. A path to a paycheck? Certainly. But, a life? A well-balanced, appropriately challenged life? No way.Is it any wonder that you are filled with dreams of escape? You’re not alone. Recent Conference Board surveys reveal that:• 40% of employees feel disconne

This week in San Diego, you can even handle human organs at the museum. How’s that for an art exhibition! If that’s not your style, you can check out car shows, fashion shows, food tasting contests or wine tasting festivals.

To find these cool diversions, go to your local art council and ask for a brochure of upcoming shows, or better yet scan the community bulletin in your local coffee shop for fliers about upcoming art shows. For more dating outlets, you can skim the “Events” section of your local newspaper or snatch a copy of the free community events newsletter that is typically located at the front of grocery stores.

    3. Pack a dinner

This is my favorite idea for saving money on a date because I think cooking food for another person is an act of love. Anyway, when you cook the meal for your date, and pack it along for your outing, you have an instant conversation piece. You get to explain why you chose the dish, how you prepared it and what other dishes you enjoy.

The way you cook gives huge insight into your character, which makes it a fabulous way to animate an otherwise potentially vanilla date. And you save time and money by by-passing restaurant fare.

    4. Play a game at the local park

A good portion of your tax money goes to maintaining community parks. This is an awesome investment so why not take advantage of it. You can play one-on-one games like Frisbee, football, hacky-sack, volleyball, tennis or even catch at you local park. If you have a pet, why not bring
