The government promote innovation; are you out of your minds? When has the government been able to do one damn thing for free enterprise? It seems every law that these worthless, corrupt and scandalous podium pushers dream up hurts free markets and innovation.

But it gets worse you see as some lowly wasteful government agency is assigned to promote innovation as per some new law, which tips the playing field one way or the other, generally due to industry lobbyists bribing politicians. These agencies then run off at the mouth and put into reports that their mission is to promote innovation? Fat Chance. If they close the agency, well then that might indeed promote innovation a little.

Recently in a report given to the US Congress for the justification for increased budget at the Federal Trade Commission; it was stated that;

“The FTC continued efforts to harmonize the application of competition law with the patent system in order to benefit consumers by fostering the invention and development of new goods, services, and processes. Thus the FTC in this case does the exact opposite of promoting innovation; they crush it. I think we ought to cut the FTC budget by 50% as I cannot find one thing that they do which impresses me and let me tell you I have been looking, so consider this in 2006.
