To further support that idea, here’s one of my all time favorite Goldwater quotes. From my perspective, being a Republican is an honorable political choice. That is if you a true Republican - a principled Republican - a principled conservative - as Goldwater was.
Unfortunately, the Republican party has been high jacked by two groups of morally defective people. One group is the Christian Right and the other is a consortium of individuals and businesses who are so greedy that they are literally willing to sell out their own country - and even the world - for their pathetic, monetary self-interests.
