Why Website Polls May Be Useless t to do, didn't care, or the
school had no one on staff who was equipped to help. As a result, 32 other families - no, an entire nation - suffered the consequences.I recently had a client ask me about the benefit of polls on a website. Many news sites have polls on their site, and one of the sites I maintain is included in those sites. But what benefit, if any, do they provide? And could your site use them? The short, simple answer to the second question is probably not. But let me go into the first question to explain why that is the case. When viewing poll results on a website, the average web site viewer is not interested if seeing the results of 10-50 people. They generally want to see the input of 100+ people. Hundreds of people. Not you and your 10 closest friends. So unless your site is already getting plenty of traffic, your poll is likely to be largely ignored. So what if you do have a site with plenty of traffic? What value can a poll add? Well, let's clear one thing up. It's very unlikely that adding a poll will drive additional traffic to your website. Not much traffic, anyway. You may occasionally get a poll whose topic catches the eye of people who would not normally check out your website, and some of them may even stick around. But that is not the norm, by any means. If you put up a poll, you should be doing it purely to benefit your already existing members and visitors. It can spark topics of conversations on message boards. It can allow everyone to see what the overall feeling is on a particular topic that is specific to your website's niche. It can even let you gain feedback on your target audience to better cater to them. What a wonderful time this would be for the officials of V-Tech to call upon the families of the five Amish school girls who were killed execution-style in Pennsylvania, October, 2006. For some communities, such a massacre brings The Secret to Getting Approved for a Wyoming Mortgage Refinance After Bankruptcy Recently, here in Texas, a nursing home janitor who had been terminated, later returned with a gun and held the place hostage. There were cops, plenty of media attention but, thankfully, it all ended without any violence. Many borrowers who are thinking about refinancing their Wyoming mortgage wonder if there are any 'secrets to getting approved'. The answer is yes and no. There is no proven secret to getting approved for any type of loan, but there are things you can do to make your application appear more attractive to a lender.Be Confident in Your Ability to Afford the Loan When you get a Wyoming mortgage refinance, your level of debt is carefully scrutinized. This is especially true if you will be getting the loan after filing for bankruptcy. If you want the lender to be confident in your application, you need to be confident in your ability to afford the refinance loan. Federal and Wyoming state laws prohibit lenders from approving a loan that they know you can not feasibly afford, which means there will be no talking anyone into anything. You must legitimately prove that you can and will make your monthly mortgage payments.Have a Solid Payment History Lenders will be much more willing to approve you for a Wyoming mortgage refinance after bankruptcy if you have a good payment history. It will be very important to keep up with your current mortgage payments prior to applying for the loan. If you haven't kept up, try waiting at least six months to a year to refinance. You will increase your chances of approval and get much better rates and terms on your refinance loan.Search Out Specialty Lenders Depending on your credit score and how long it has been since you filed ban As a Workplace Chaplain, hired by a nursing home chain with over 500 employees in ten locations, I couldn't help but wonder if things might have been different if that janitor had access to the services of a company Chaplain who could counsel him, pray with him, help him to leave his job with dignity and hope that God STILL had a plan for him - and maybe even help him find another job. There is no dearth of good loan deals, only of good judgement. It is normally observed that first time borrowers fall prey to the trap of lenders, who despite the good credit record of the borrower let them agree for a loan at a high APR. This is mostly in the case of unsecured loans. Though, on the surface level, unsecured deals may seem tempting. But, once you go in to the depth, you find that the borrower is many times at a great loss by choosing an unsecured personal loan over a secured one.Secured loans are cheap loans when one takes the APR charged and other charges like agreement fees, brokerage charges, and early redemption penalties into account. Since there is low risk involved in the loan deal for the lender, he offers low APRs on secured loans. The loan deal is secured by assets like home offered by the debtor. It's the simple rule of thumb, lower the risk for the lender - lower the cost of loan for the borrower. With increasing debts and defaults on them, the rate of interest charged on unsecured loans by the lenders has increased considerably. Banks have become stringent in their credit policies as well regarding unsecured debts. So, whenever there is choice between secured and unsecured loans, compare loans extensively. Secured loans may fetch you the following advantages that an unsecured might not.Easier to obtain- You don't really hav I find it frustrating how willing people are to invite - not only grief therapists and counselors - but chaplains and ministers, to tend to those who survive tragedies the likes of the massacre at Virginia Tech. Why not America's Universities? Face it, a person with a personal tragedy in the dorm or back home is a person with a personal tragedy in the classroom.Secured loans, as the name goes, means you have to place a collateral to get a loan. The collateral or the security is your property, usually your home, if you are a home-owner.When you go for secured loans, you have to place your property as collateral. This implies that if you are unable to repay the loan amount, your house can be repossessed. In other words, if the borrower fails to pay off the loan in the agreed time-period, the lender will have the right to take ownership of your house to recover the due amount. This is an obvious risk, yet something which in actuality, is quite under your control.Th threat of repossession means you have to be careful with your monthly instalments which should be but easy, because of low APR or Annual Percentage rate chargeable on the loan and an extended period of repayment. The monthly instalments can be a mutually agreed amount between the lender and the borrower, which can be negotiated to best suit a borrower's convenience. This could be a good reason why so many people prefer secured loans.Secured loans involve a procedure of evaluation of your property. This is done to calculate the equity worth of your house. These days, the process of property evaluation has been quickened to ensure fast approval of loan amounts.Increased competition among lenders has helped the borrowers further by enhancing the scope of negotiation for the best loan quotes. The Hero's Journey (Monomyth) is the template upon which the vast majority of successful stories and Hollywood blockbusters are based upon. In fact, ALL of the hundreds of Hollywood movies we have deconstructed (see URL below) are based on this 188+ stage template.Understanding this template is a priority for story or screenwriters. This is the template you must master if you are to succeed in the craft.[The terminology is most often metaphoric and applies to all successful stories and screenplays, from The Godfather (1972) to Brokeback Mountain (2006) to Annie Hall (1977) to Lord of the Rings (2003) to Drugstore Cowboy (1989) to Thelma and Louise (1991) to Apocaplyse Now (1979)].THERE IS ONLY ONE STORYTHE HERO'S JOURNEY:a) Attempts to tap into unconscious expectations the audience has regarding what a story is and how it should be told.b) Gives the writer more structural elements than simply three or four acts, plot points, mid point and so on.c) Gives you a tangible process for building and releasing dissonance (establishing and achieving catharses, of which there are usually four).d) Gives you a universal structural template upon which you can superimpose your situational story. This is why stories such as Alien (1979), Gladiator (2000), Midnight Cowboy (1969), American Beauty (1999), The Graduate (1967) and many others (all deconstructed at the URL below) appear to be different but are all constructed, almost sequence by sequence, in the same way. t to do, didn't care, or the school had no one on staff who was equipped to help. The Amish community forgave that killer and comforted his wife. For some communities, such a massacre brings nothing but demands for tighter gun laws and better security, as embittered loved ones attack the killer's family or threaten lawsuits. After all, someone must surely pay! No, not the Amish. That's not how they handle life. Or death. I lived among these wonderful people as a boy in Bremen, Indiana. I'm sure they struggled with the slayings of their children - and still are - but they CHOSE to turn the other cheek, urging others to join in forgiving the killer and accepting even their most horrific tragedy as being part of God's will. "They know their children are going to Heaven. They know their children are innocent ... and they know that they will join them in death," Gertrude Huntington, a Michigan researcher and expert on children in Amish society said. "The hurt is very great, but they don't balance the hurt with hate." NO ROOM FOR JESUS...AGAIN. A convocation took place today on the V-Tech campus. Kind words. The President was there. There were references to Allah by a Muslim cleric, a Jewish representative quoted from Ecclesiastes and a Buddhist representative spoke, too. Jesus Christ, the Lord of all things, wasn't even mentioned by the Lutheran minister. President Bush himself briefly made mention of "the grace and guidance of a loving God." Close but no cigar, George. There was a moment of nothingness, a.k.a. "a moment of silence," and there's a candlelight vigil tonight. Imagine! No prayer in the Name above all names, Jesus Christ. I'm thinking that if there were more of that kind of thing going on, i.e., prayer in Jesus' Name on America's campuses, there would be less of this kind of tragedy to have to deal with - and more strength to deal with such things if and when they DO occur. Jesus said, "What does it profit a man to gain the whole world yet lose his soul?" O
