Simply put: Being ethical is doing the right thing.“Appurate!” My grandmother yelled from the car. “Hurry up!” My mother, yelled, as though attempting to drown her out. My mother and grandmother were at war with one another when it came to language. My mother, who emigrated from Mexico when she was sixteen and worked hard to overcome the language barrier, was convinced that Spanish would be nothing but a hindrance to us; a stigma. She still spoke Spanish to her sisters, but she always made a point to address us children in English. My grandmother ignored this mandate, and spoke (or more frequently yelled) strictly in Spanish. When we spoke English she stubbornly pretended she couldn’t understand us, though my mother pointed out that never seemed to have any problem following the plots or plays on words when watching her favorite TV shows. Though this battle between my mother and grandmother raged for years, in the end my grandmother won out. As it happens, so did I.At first I didn’t see Spanish as an advantage. Spanish was a way to safely gossip while waiting in line at the grocery store; Spanish was a way for me and my cousin to trade secrets at school. Cursing was more satisfying in Spanish, love songs more mournful. But until the internet boomed, Spanish was a private comfort, not a marketable asset. All that has changed. With the US census bureau projecting a 188% increase in our Hispanic population over the course of the next 50 years, corporations are scrabbling to catch up and meet the needs of an increasingly bilingual populace. Today, sites like LatPRo and bilingualcareer.com rival Monster.com as job search and hiring resources. These sites offer corp Much is said about Ethics and we all agree we have them. But just what is “them?” Lets tackle the business ethics first for it is simple and straight forward. The problem comes when you are asked by your supervisor to do something that you are not sure if it is the right thing to do. There are two parts to the business ethical question: What to do when you are asked to do something, would your action be ethical? When you personally have to make decisions: How do you make them ethically? Following Orders This part is simple. You must understand your loyalties: Be loyal to yourself. Texas Instruments has a simple three-step rule to follow if you question the ethical merits of a directive: If you know it is wrong, simply don’t do it. When you are caught with your hand in the cookie jar, why wouldn't the company terminate someone for that?I'm glad to see that this company has a firm hand when someone scams them. Why do you think that rules are set in place by companies? This person hurt a lot of people in her "rocking and rolling" months and had so many complaints to headquarters in her short time in moving up. So many complaints of how she was conducting her business and what she was doing to get what she needed out of her downline and upline to move so fast.I do agree however that the policies and procedures should be reviewed thoroughly prior to checking that box. Nonetheless, this person was fully aware of what she was doing and that it was grounds for termination. What has upset her is she wasn't smart enough not to get caught and vicious and sly enough not to care. A person who was ignorant enough to think because she made the company so much money that they could never let her go and a person with an ego (and a deluded outlook on law) of one of our US ex president's, "I am not a crook!"She continues to promote her name and has such a strong desire to be in the spot light even more. If I were her, I would go underground for a while until this blew over. Not keep it up, because she is "ousted" on this. She owes this company thousands of dolor’s so I'm sure this won't be the last time we hear about her.She proclaims honesty and is pretty smooth about her delivery. The Three Pillars of Corporate Performance Management for the Insurance Sector "Change" is the watchword for the insurance sector. Increasing customer churn and pressure on premiums are eroding profitability, highlighting the need for significant cost reductions in the areas of customer acquisition and service. This threatens the traditional operating model as organizations re-evaluate current routes to market and redesign internal processes in the never-ending search for greater efficiency. Faced with the need for change, many insurers recognize that they are ill equipped to provide executives with the management information required to restore and maintain the desired level of profitability. For insurers there are three core financial management processes: Cost and Profitability Analytics Many insurers are not able to report on product, customer and channel profitability with the frequency they desire, even though this information is critical for decision-making at both strategic and operational levels Long-Range Financial Planning In today’s markets, strategic planning models need to be refreshed and evaluated with increasing frequency. This means routinely updating assumptions about both the external and internal drivers of profitability. Because many of these critical pieces of information such as customer attrition rates and unit costs reside in other applications, this is not always easy. Stand-alone, long-range planning models therefore compromise an organization’s ability to continually review and test assumptions that underpin strategy.es: Be loyal to yourself. Two of such big companies which success could be defined as the best promotion strategies implementation are Coca Cola beverages Company and Pepsi Company.Pepsi promotes its products by personal selling, advertising, and sales promotion. For advertising, and sales promotion it used printed and electronic media. Every newspaper and magazine carry Pepsi advertisements. Advertisement of Pepsi are eye catching and attractive. Through advertising it informs the consumer about new brands and flavours. Pepsi designs its sales promotion strategies and advertisement campaign focusing strictly on the target markets. Pepsi has been catching the trends of society. National songs by bands like “Vital Signs”, “Awaaz”, “Junoon” and “Strings” were the keys in their advertisement campaign. Sponsoring the pop industry and the cricketing team helped Pepsi hit right on target of their primary market which consists of teenagers. The management of PEPSI uses both the skimming and penetration pricing strategy. Ethicans attempt to create an ethical school that applies to every occasion. The search is for a unifying ethical system is much like the search for the unifying theory of physics. It may happen in physics but not in ethics. Ethics is an emotional identity attempting to present itself as a logical and rational discipline. It fails miserably. In addition, the ethical thinkers are not logical thinkers. They squabble amongst themselves and pass themselves off as great thinkers. If you want to read classical examples of poor writing, corrupt logic and pettiness, read the classical ethical writers. Yet they were brilliant. For example, John Stuart Mills (1806-1873), regarded as the great proponent of Utilitarian Ethics was brilliant. By the age of seventeen he had completed advanced studies in Greek literature and philosophy, chemistry, botany, psychology and law. As a member of the British parliament he was considered a radical, as he supported such outrageous measures as public ownership of natural resources, equality for women, compulsory education, and birth control. He was one of the founders of the women’s suffrage movement. His 1863 essay on Utilitarian ethics is regarded as the cornerstone of the Utilitarian principles. It is a disgraceful example of writing. For example the opening sentence is sixty-two words long. And things only get worse.
