How To Grow Your Business On A Shoestring Budget
There are three, and only three, ways to increase (grow) your business. These are:1. Get more customers; 2. Get your customers to buy more; 3. Get your customers to buy more often. The tactics to cover all three ways would fill a 190 page book* so, in this article, we’ll cover just one component of one of the three strategies, getting your customers to buy more often.OK! So you want me to prove that I know what I am talking about, hmm?How can you encourage customers to buy more often? Big businesses do it with loyalty programs. Scary Subliminal Advertising And Why It Works
According to an April 2006 issue of the New Scientist, research has proven that subliminal advertising messages work… and that if conditions are right, subliminal advertising to promote a brand can be made to work.Previous experiments claiming this were debunked. But in a recent experiment, scientists found that eighty per cent of volunteers who had been exposed to the subliminal advertising message chose that product, compared to only 20 per cent of the controls. Those are scary stats indeed. The term “subliminal message” was popularized in 1917 (World War I), when the US army would sneak messages into songs and put subliminal messages in posters trying to get people to join the army.A subliminal message is defined as a signal or message designed to pass below the normal limits of perception. Subliminal messages target the subconscious mind and may be generated in the form of an image transmitted briefly and not perceived consciously and yet perceived unconsciously. While the conscious, rationa

    Getting Reimbursed for Business Expenses
Business traveling, even with all of its hustle, bustle, and flat hotel pillows, does have one perk: your company pays for it. Whether they reimburse you for cars from rental agencies or for the miles you put on your own vehicle, one thing stands between you and your financial compensation: tangible proof of what you’ve spent.Keeping financial records of business trips may seem – on the surface – quite simple. However, when more pressing matters get in the way – late plane departures, important business meetings, getting lost in a new city – it’s rather easy to lose track of what you are spending. Adhering to some of the following tips of advice can help you to keep track of all your expenses and allow you to stick it to “the man,” one mile at a time.Put your Receipts somewhere safe: Receipts on business trips are as important as money: they are evidence that you’ve spent what you say you’ve spent. Unfortunately, they are sometimes easy to lose. When you are in a rush, stuffing receipts in the pocket

Midwest Tornado Aftermath Shows Cultural Cohesiveness
When tornadoes struck Pettis County, Missouri, last week we received a vivid example of the importance of culture on how we react to situations. According to reporter Chuck Orman of the Sedalia Democrat, Jerry Yoder and family emerged from the farmhouse's cellar to find the second story and room addition were completely destroyed. Extensive rebuilding needed to be done yet their Amish faith doesn't allow for any modern conveniences, such as power tools and machinery. The Amish culture is well organized and devoted to each other. Soon after the tornado had passed members of the local Amish community began arriving to help in the rebuilding. By Thursday more than 72 unpaid volunteers had repaired the Yoder home and put a new roof on his barn. This illustration shows the bonds of cultures as exemplified throughout the world by virtually all cultures.Experiental Impact of Diversity Growing up, Amish children experience an estrangement from non-Amish when they are out in the community becau

    Who Loves Statistics?
Statistics, the word almost makes me cringe as it is a reminder of all the hard work I had to do to finish my degree. I do not think that it is statistics per se but it is the fact that I had to create the numbers from formulas. In business, statistics are generated from asking the right questions and instead of doing all the calculations, the software takes over and you see the immediate results. Statistics breathe life into websites and marketing departments. Everything you do needs to be measured. You should measure each marketing campaign to find out what is working. You should measure where internet visitors come from and how they got to your site. And you should measure what pages they visited, how long they stayed, and what page they exited from. Measure, measure, measure. The results of the measurements paint the picture. Graphs, charts, numbers, tables, and arrays all show the results. Looking at the displays from the measurements, give you a visual of what is working and what is not. If a pag
