However, BCP does not surround text fields with quotation marks when exporting data. By quotation marks I mean double quotation marks " ". If you export text field data which includes commas to a Comma Separated Value (CSV) file the extra commas will be misinterpreted as field delimiters by a CSV interpreter. One common solution is to incorporate the surrounding quotation marks within a View's or Query's SQL string. Including quotation marks within a View makes it redundant for any purpose other than bulk copy exports. A more elegant solution to this problem is to use the SED.exe program.
