Computer Consulting: A Business of Time and Sweat Equity
Building a computer consulting business requires a lot of time. It involves going out to meetings and it's shaking a lot of hands. You'll need to make a lot of follow-up phone calls. Display ads and direct mail drops and similar marketing efforts do not replace calling up a potential client to try to establish a person-to-person connection. Because of the required hands-on time, you should be realistic about what it takes to get your computer con

Networking For a Job-3 Areas to Look
There are several ways to attack a job search, but one of the most effective and typically most often overlooked methods is through networking. Most people have an endless amount of resources at their disposal if they just sit down and made a list of the people that they are acquainted with. In this article to take a look at three areas that you should be focusing your networking efforts on in a job search. There are three main areas that y
When asked what the secret to the success of her business was, Lucy Garrighan, president of Business Alternatives Inc., replied:

"I guess it is always remaining positive about what you are doing and working hard. If you believe you cannot fail, [then] most likely you won't, and working hard goes along with this. I think it is so true that ‘the harder you work the luckier you are!' We all get frustrated with difficulties, but I really believe that if you want to find the rainbow, [then] you have to put up with a little rain now and then." Garrighan adds that she constantly reminds herself that "it could always be worse." (Imprints of Success, by Amy Yard, September 2001 e-magnify.com)

Her answer inspired me to write about the value and importance of remaining positive while running your small business. As entrepreneurs, it’s easy to get discouraged. The tricky thing about being positive is that it’s an attitude, not a feeling. It’s a state of mind that is self-induced. Yes, that right! YOU have control over whether you have a positive attitude or not. It has nothing to do with what happens to you (go to a cancer ward in your local hospital, and you’ll understand what I mean). How often do you hand that control over to someone — or something — else

Critical Report On Day Job Killer
It is rather a difficult job to critically analyse and report on an e-book in as much as the critical report has to be in such a way as not to hurt anyone. I have tried my best to make this critical report in such a way as not to harm the feelings of anyone concerned. One of the toughest internet marketing is affiliate marketing. What with the uncertainty of what is profitable today may not be profitable tomorrow. One has to be continuously awa

Is it Prestigious to be a Teacher?
After graduation we get lost in the number of opportunities and careers proposed to us by various agents visiting high-school. Some students follow parents’ advice, some of them chose occupation taking prestige into consideration. Only a few strong-willed people follow their calling not paying attention to any of advice, orders and other factors. These brave people are more likely to be successful in their lives than others. How often do you hand that control over to someone — or something — else: Family, friends, clients, colleagues, or your bank account?

The truth is, you can allow yourself to let these external factors control you, usually causing a negative attitude, or you can CHOOSE to achieve and sustain a positive outlook. How? I believe it must be cultivated and learned. Here are 3 ways I’ve learned to keep a positive attitude:

    • Surround yourself with positive things and positive people. Read a motivational book for 20 minutes each morning. Use positive affirmations. Write in a gratitude journal at the end of the day. Surround yourself with positive people that encourage you to be your best self. Set very strong boundaries with chronically negative people; protect yourself and send a message to them that you care enough about yourself to avoid negativity.
