Benefits Of Working In A Small Company Versus A Corporation
Big companies, or small, both have benefits and disadvantages. Big company may give you a false sense of security. In large companies when they have layoffs, seem to layoff large groups, not just one or two people. The advantage of a big company is you can get lost in the crowd. Free Advertising vs Paid Advertising Campaigns (part 2)
Maximizing Your Online Advertising DollarsWe've already established that you will get further, faster, by utilizing paid advertising resources over free advertising. You must target active buyers in order to sell. Now, let's get into how this can be accomplished. THREE WORDS - SEARCH ENGINE INJECTION People go to
Many people say they want their own business, but have no idea what's involved in such an endeavor. Having your own business is nothing like having a job, and most peoples experience is with having a job and working for someone else. You see, when you have a job, you get a paycheck for the time you spend working. When you have your own business, the process is just the opposite. You put in the work and then get paid at some point in the future. There is no receiving a paycheck every two weeks, as there is with a job.

This simple point is more than most people can overcome, especially in the beginning. In the beginning, having your own business is a challenge, to say the least. As a person who has had his own business for more than 10 years, I know all about it. Not only that, but I've started new businesses since the first one and go through the same challenges every time. I've already mentioned the first challenge…….getting paid. Another big challenge in having your own business is getting work done. The moment you strike out on your own, people around you tend to think that you've got a ton of "free" time, because after all you don't have to be at your job at a certain time. Dealing with those that are close to you can be a challenge, to say the least. Especially when the money's not flowing, initially. The people around you don't realize that drumming up business (however you are doing that) is working, and you don't have a ton of free time.

    Career Breaks for Older Workers
More and more British workers are taking career breaks – one study reported that three-quarters of the workforce was thinking about it.But if you’re in your late 40s or early 50s, a career break could prove difficult. You might not want to wait until you retire, but then, you don’t want to take a step off the corporate ladder in case you can’t get back on aga

    Who Decides Good Customer Service?
“Hey, Joe, your service stinks. Get this kid a chocolate milkshake.”Those are the words I heard as a kid on my first trip to an ice cream parlor near where my grandmother lived. Back then, there were no special people or computer programs needed to determine whether or not a business provided excellent customer service. Customers were ready, willing and ab

    Attracting Jobs to Your State
States are competing for new business much like people bidding at an auction. The state with the lowest cost to the Company is likely to win the bid. Tax breaks, $1 land leases, state assistance, construction costs, availability to skilled labor, and logistics are major concerns for companies. States that solve these problems are likely to win the bid but many state

The biggest challenge in having your own business is getting over yourself. Getting out of your own way, if you will. When you strike out on your own your left to deal with that voice in your head that consistently tells you that this endeavor that you've undertaken is an impossibility. This voice will say things such as, "why don't you just get a job like everyone else?" and "No one wants what you have to offer anyway". This voice, sometimes called your ego, must be squelched. If you don't begin changing your thoughts, you'll start listening to this voice, and you won't succeed. Getting over yourself, or this ego, is by far the biggest challenge that is faced in the act of having your own business.

The good news is that it can be done. There are millions of stories of people who have successfully achieved having their own business. You more than likely know a few of them. Buy these people lunch and pick their brains. Ask them how they started and what kinds of challenges they faced. Read some books by individuals who have started their own businesses. The larger your knowledge base becomes the better off you'll be.

The bottom line is that having your own business is fun, challenging, and can be incredibly rewarding. It's just not easy, especially in the beginning. I think Ted Turner said it best, when he said, "My son is now an "entrepreneur." That's what you're called when you don't have a job."
