The Hero's Journey is also a study of conventions. Before screenwriters can decide whether to accept or reject the conventions, they must appreciate their purpose and value.

Once the hero has completed his journey, there is often a sequence tangibly illustrating the New Order.
In Elizabethtown (2005), post the Master of Two Worlds stage, a burial ceremony puts Drew's dad to rest. Although Drew's dad has been cremated, this sequence illustrates that the two sides of the family have now integrated: the burial takes place for their [the Kentucky family] benefit.
Often the tangibly representation of the New Order is part and parcel of the Freedom to Live.
