It is usually my time for a walk, or window-sill sitting, or distracting on some regular things. Any kind of activity that can distract me from writing is good. After this, it is easier to give a fresh look on information, make an outline, or think of possible ideas. If I were to give an advice, I’d say: draft on a fresh head. When I complete this stage, I tell myself that it is time to write. I turn on the computer, open MS Word, prepare notes, and… start playing. I know, how it sounds. Doesn’t differ much from the beginners, does it? But it’s just a mental preparation. I know that a feeling of guilt will creep into my mind unexpectedly, and I will start writing immediately after receiving that feeling. But this schedule usually works great for me. I complete all the necessary steps, and at the end get a good essay that I’m satisfied with.

When I was a beginner myself, I used to give my papers to my family members. They were my best critics, and from the readers’ position pointed at places that were hard to understand, or sounded weird. Time passed, and I developed my own sense for texts. My small secret is proofreading twice. First time comes right after I finished. I correct mistakes, and look at an overall result. I come back to my text in an hour or so, and give it a fresh look. Only after this is done, I feel that I did what I had to do, and did it good. As to the feeling of insecurity or whatever else happens that takes away my confidence, I tell myself that this is what writing people have to cope with. It will pass. Sooner or later, but it will go away.
