    The Importance Of A Brand
What do you think of when I say Coca-Cola, Microsoft, IBM, GE, Intel and Nokia? Well, if you said they are all big companies, you'd be right. But they are also the six top rated global brands as judged in a survey conducted by Business Week earlier this year (2006).Why is a brand important? Obviously, a brand provides recognition. A brand sends a message to the market. The "brand" clearly identifies what can be expected from the company. Wikipedia defines "brand" as "a collection of images and ideas representing an economic producer," or " a symbolic embodiment of all the information connected to a company, product or service. A brand serves to create associations and expectations."What's In A Name? How can a company name such as IBM or GE achieve all this? Obviously a set of lette

I recently started my VA business, so I dropped in to my local Office Supply store (one of the big chains) to pick up what I expected to be approximately $1,000.00 worth of needed software, pens, etc. (The VA business is all about support, so having exactly what you need when you need it in order to serve your customer is imperative.) It's true I could have purchased a great deal of this material online and saved myself some money, but, because I was mainly focusing on software, I wanted to be able to ask questions and make certain I was buying exactly what I needed, and not getting more than necessary, etc. The opportunity to create a relationship with someone on a local level also appealed to me. You never know when a customer's going to need something you've never heard of, and need it yesterday.

    The Computer-Friendly Resume
The evolution of technology is changing the traditional methods for job searching and recruiting. More and more companies are now relying on computers to initiate the process of hiring and are filling their database with candidates with skills that are easily searchable. Traditionally, submitted resumes were first received and sorted by humans. What else, right? But now, for many firms, this step has been handed over to their computers. To facilitate more efficient hiring, incoming resumes for some large firms are sent to a computerized applicant tracking system to be scanned, or read. The resumes are sorted, categorized and retrieved through data scanning technology and entered into the organization’s computing network. Resumes must now be formatted and written in a way so that the initial viewer of the

Being a college student, I have to come up with alternative ways to earn money in what little spare time I have. After picking up a few normal office supply items, I get to the software section of the store. I see a few of the programs I've come to buy, and look over the empty display boxes to get a feel for exactly what I'm buying.
