For practical application, they will also set up a model business of their choice. Their ideas range from selling motorcycles to producing movies and even being a Realtor.

The number of local elementary, middle and high school students reached through JA activity-based programs has grown significantly every year. In 1996-1997, 14 JA programs reached 362 students. During the 2005-2006 school year, 208 programs reached 4,425 students in 22 schools. More than 70% of all New Hanover County elementary schools participated in JA programs in 2005-2006.
